  1. The Internal Revenue Service routinely processes more than 200 million tax returns each year, many of them prepared by tax professionals. Not surprisingly, as tax law becomes increasingly complex, taxpayers often seek the knowledgeable assistance of enrolled agents and other professionals in their preparation. This course will examine the principal rules, duties and restrictions applicable to enrolled agents in their professional activities. 2. Karen, check out these sources..... https://sourceforge.net/projects/fixedassets/ http://www.capterra.com/fixed-asset-management-software/
  3. Jack, I did mine completely shut down, and upon restart I had No issues. You see in the above video that the fellow drops the battery on the circuit board, which could short out that board, or cause a fire if plugged in and running. All I had to do was reset date and time.
  4. A desktop computer has a small round battery, the size of a quarter inside of it also. When it loses its strength it can throw off startup. Watch this video.....
  5. ILLMAS, Replace the internal battery.... Some times that will cause that problem. It just comes out of the blue. It happened to me on Vista, a new battery remedied my "blue screen/slow start" Hope that will remedy yours also......Good luck.
  6. Have a great turkey day, everyone.....
  7. ILLMAS....I would talk to them and simply say.... I will do your work upon full payment in advance.
  8. Depends on the Ordnung ...... Tim Allen, or Kirstie Alley would be a nice source......Wait..!...Maybe they weren't paid either. Anyway....I agree with Rita, and MDEA.

  14. Have you been lax in the past about issuing 1099s, realizing the IRS rarely, if ever, penalized you for sending them in late? That permissive view of 1099 and W-2 filing is over. Making matters worse, next year’s filing deadlines will be compressed. Fortunately, there is time to prepare before the close of 2016 to ensure smoother, speedier filing in 2017. http://www.forbes.com/sites/janetberryjohnson/2016/11/04/compressed-deadlines-and-higher-penalties-for-forms-1099-and-w-2/#28c470ff7eef

  16. The Internal Revenue Service today reminded the nation’s more than 725,000 federal tax return preparers that they must renew their Preparer Tax Identification Numbers (PTINs) for 2017. All current PTINs will expire Dec. 31, 2016. https://www.irs.gov/uac/newsroom/2017-ptin-renewal-period-underway-for-tax-professionals

  17. The Internal Revenue Service today reminded employers and small businesses of a new Jan. 31 filing deadline for Forms W-2. The IRS must also hold some refunds until Feb. 15. A new federal law, aimed at making it easier for the IRS to detect and prevent refund fraud, will accelerate the W-2 filing deadline for employers to Jan. 31. For similar reasons, the new law also requires the IRS to hold refunds involving two key refundable tax credits until at least Feb. 15. Here are details on each of these key dates. https://www.irs.gov/uac/newsroom/reminder-employers-face-new-jan-31-w2-filing-deadline-some-refunds-delayed-until-feb-15

  24. Tax practitioners across the country have started receiving emails notifying them that if they do not opt out, they will be included in the class of plaintiffs in a lawsuit that is currently pending before the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. The class action lawsuit includes as plaintiffs everyone who paid the IRS money to obtain or renew a preparer tax identification number (PTIN) on or after Sept. 30, 2010, unless they choose to opt out of the class. Practitioners have until Dec. 7, 2016, to opt out. The plaintiffs in the case estimate that some 700,000 to 1,200,000 preparers are affected (Plaintiffs’ Amended Class Action Complaint ¶32 (8/7/15)). http://www.journalofaccountancy.com/news/2016/oct/ptin-class-action-lawsuit-201615343.html
