  1. Tom, Likewise! Years ago I was doing bookkeeping for a company who began expanding and needed a network set up for Quickbooks. At the time we only had the official board and I asked for help and you responded. Your response helped me a lot back then and I also look at all your posts as well. Yes California is quirky but it can be a fun ride! Deb!
  2. I just noticed I made it to 1002 posts, I've graduated!
  3. I agree with Jack's earlier statement. The code DD is to get us ready for what will happen when we prepare the 2014 tax return and have to figure the penalty or not for the affordable care act. This figure will be important to us next year but has no effect on us this year.
  4. If you are using print packets you can also change them never to print. That's what I have done.
  5. Agree. I have not had any problems at all. Those that are having problems after the update had problems before the update. Everything has been working great for me except for a few minor problems.
  6. So Jack, If this contains the backup fix, we should be able to see an increase space on our hard drive?
  7. We've figured out how this is happening. If you've customized the 1040 (or 1040A or 1040EZ) AND the 1040 EF Info within the same Customize Master session, and at the same time had the "Enter this ERO's information on all new returns:" preference enabled, you will end up with duplicated SubmissionID's. We're working on how to prevent it, but in the meantime, please do the following: 1. From the Return Manager, select Forms -> Customize Master Forms. 2. When the list of forms is displayed, select the 1040 EF Info form, then from the "Customize" menu, select "Restore Single Selected Master Form". 3. Confirm to restore this form to it's default version. 4. You can immediately reselect the 1040 EF Info and customize it again. 5. Any new returns will NOT duplicate the SubmissionID's like they have been. If you have customized state EF Info forms, you'll have to restore and re-customize them as well. The key is to NOT customize the EF Info forms with a federal signature form (1040/A/EZ, 1120/S, 1065, 1041 etc) in the same customize session. This will prevent you from duplicating any further SubmissionID's. For existing e-files, you can either: A) transmit them, which will generate the EFC Reject. Once you receive the reject (which is very fast, typically less than 10 minutes), simply reopen the return and recreate the rejected e-files. This should create a new SubmissionID. discard the EF Info form, then add it back to the return. This will also generate new SubmissionID's in the EF Info form, which can then be created and transmitted normally. Thanks for your patience while we figured this out. ATXJosh This was posted on the other forum. Maybe it applies to your situation, but then again maybe not.
  8. Jack, forget what you knew about Atx in the past (haha)! Atx creates the number automatically if you have the forms in the return. The number actually populates before you create the e-file, and will not change unless rejected by agency.
  9. On the other site, it appears that this problem occurs if you have modified the 1040 e-file info worksheet.
  10. California is always slow opening week. When they finally get it together they also will come in fast. I usually have a few get hung up first week, but at least they are showing sent to agency, usually it's stuck on sent to EFC. Looking good so far!
  11. E-file this year is lightning fast! I hesitated to send any till Monday, but tested one out yesterday, went thru fast. Got all mine ready this AM, sent them and already have acceptance. I've never experienced an opening season like this!
  12. Stays the same unless IRS rejects, then a new number will be assigned.
  13. The problem with quickbooks is that you will be charged a monthly minimum unless you are an advisor. I only need the service for the three months out of the year, so it is not cost effective for me at all.
  14. I also made my deadline, it was down to one sales tax return that usually gives me huge problems, this time was right on the dot, and three separate payroll runs with checks due out yesterday. I was extremely stressed, phone rang off the wall, people showed up without appointments, and everyone on earth wanted to come in yesterday. I am beginning to hate January 31 with a passion! What made it worse is that it fell on Friday, even in the off season this day is my busiest
  15. Make sure your computer does not sleep or hibernate. If the computer goes to sleep, when you wake it up, ATX does not always wake up, causing that problem. I have never had that problem, but it has been discussed on the other forum.
  16. If you waited till the 31st to pay, the earliest date that it would show effective wouldnbe 2/4 anyway. You have to initiate payment by 5 pm eastern the day before due date or it will be late.
  17. Tom I do not see any application for it for a desk top or laptop application. To use it you have to download the app from Google Play Store, then go online to set up your account. It plugs into the earphone jack on my cell or it can be used on a tablet.
  18. I treat it as a cost of doing business. I try to treat my clients the way I like to be treated and I do not appreciate a surcharge. If I can't afford to absorb the cost then I simply will not offer it.
  19. Terry, You said you purchased your square? I purchased mine from Target for 10.00 but as soon as I set up my account Square deposited 10.00 back in my account, so my cost was zero. In addition to that, even though when I signed up I said I already had a square reader, they sent me a second reader. So I have a backup. I was hesitant at first, but figured what do I have to lose? Used it on two clients already and they thought it was wonderful. Deb!
  20. Started using it this year and absolutely love it. Money is in my account within 24 hours, make sure and get a stylus for signature and your are good to go!
  21. Mine have all turned red. I've seen it at least a couple of times, one with a tax id number and one with routing number.
  22. Just a hunch, but did you code it?
  23. I agree, it was eating my external drive, haven't checked C drive yet. Thanks Jack!
  24. Has anyone tried going to the tool section of internet explorer 11 and choose compatibility view settings, add the website your at to the list? I've had to do this on several sites to get them to behave. Maybe it will work here too!
  25. You have to have 2012 installed, import or restore backup to 2012, then rollover to 2013.
