    8453-C

I have been e-filing individual returns for several years, but this is my first year for corporation returns. The ATX program says I must scan a signed 8453-C and attach it to the corporation return when I e-file it. From what I read on the IRS site, I do not need to attach Form 8453-C as long as I have a signed 8879-C in my files. Will my corporation returns be rejected if the 8453-C is not attached? Also, is it the same with e-filed Fiduciary returns?
  2. They posted on MyAtx today (January 30) that filing of 1099's will start Friday (February 1). I guess that means we should just keep waiting, and maybe our original submissions will go through eventually.

    1099 e-filed status

The 1099's I e-filed more than two weeks ago still say "Validated by EFC." The last time I talked to ATX on Saturday, January 26, I was told they would start sending these files "sometime this week." They keep moving the projected date of filing, so I guess we just keep waiting.
  4. It was posted on MyAtx that 1099's would begin filing January 24 or 25. I still have not received any acks, so I called Customer Support today (January 26.) They say that no 1099's have been transmitted yet, but they expect to start sending them "sometime next week." I would like to hear from anyone who finally receives acknowledgment that one of these returns has been filed and accepted.
  5. I see an update at 9:00 A.M. today (January 24) on MyATX E-file Center says that they expect to start sending 1099's today or tomorrow. It's about time.
  6. Is ATX still holding the 1099 files. I have been waiting 2 weeks for Acks. Should I to re-submit these files, or do I keep waiting? For how long?

    1099 Efile

I hope taxit is correct that 1099's have not been transmitted to the IRS yet. That would solve a problem I thought I had. I called CS today about the same situation, and the person I talked to seemed to know nothing about the program. It took her 15 minutes on hold to come back with the advice to "Click on Receive Acks in the E-file Manager." After putting me on hold another 45 minutes, she found no record of these returns in their system. I was then told to delete the transmitted returns and resubmit them. The problem is you can't delete a return once it has been transmitted to ATX. How do I get these old e-filed returns that have been "Validated by EFC" off my computer without completely uninstalling the ATX program? I have tried restoring old back-ups, and have been into the program files and deleted the returns from the database, but where is the e-file info? Unless I delete it, I am stuck with these old returns on my computer forever. Maybe this will solve itself when (if) they transmit the returns to Martinsburg.
  8. How long does it take to get acknowledgement after e-filing a return? It has been three days since I sent two 1099 files, and the status still shows "Validated by EFC." I hope this is just a minor hiccup and not indicative of the type service we will get the rest of filing season.

    NOL

I don't believe your client has a NOL carryover. Personal exemptions are not allowed in the computation, nor is the standard deduction (or itemized deductions) in excess of nonbusiness income. See IRS Publication 536.
