Have not had the occasion yet this year, but Last year I lumped short term transactions and long term transactions with dates " purchase 01/01/08, sold 12/31/08" put in the brokers numbers and attached spreadsheet to 8453 which got mailed to Austin. E-file went fine.

I happen to have a home in an HOA that had flag rules. Solution..as soon as I bought the home I got elected to the board and appointed to the architectural committee. Immediately re-wrote the rules. Included the flag code. Problem solved.

I have a client whose 9 yr old daughter received a structured settlement from a car accident. One of the items of the settlement included an amount given to her father, my client, for allocated loss wages and medicals costs during her stay in the hospital. He did not receive a 1099. After researching this income-I believe it is not taxable. So my question is: Do I disclose this information on his return by filing a 8275 or do we try to sort out wages from medical and report wages as other income?

Filed a return with multiple 8283s.. 01/30/10. Accepted 01/30/10

I tried to copy the disbursement screen but am not that smart. If you are in Bank Manager and look at disbursements there is a tab for "Details" Popup shows the payments and where the money went. "Bank Account Fee" $15.00 Next line is Bank technology fee $11.00. They are corrct, there is no "Transmitter Fee" just $26.00 of other fees. I will call on Monday and see if I can get clarification but I do not anticipate much.

first Two fee collects disbursed today.Although not discolosed in any of the disclosures, CCH charged the $11.00 Tech access fee and the bank account fee of $15.00 we were told about. Net cost to Taxpayer $26.00. I am having to refund the $11.00 as not disclosed. 4 more in process then no more. $26.00 is killer for convenience.

one-time Economic Recovery payment of $250 in 2009

The $250 came as Direct Deposit and if I did not monitor my credit union shares account weekly, I would not have seen $250.00 additional in an investment account. -

I read the summary and I thought she did an amazingly well thought out job of organizing facts and circunstances, i hope she uses that as a premise for her MBA thesis, Grin

i just received my SSA-1099 and the $250.00 is not included or referenced on it. I did receive the 250.00 in May but can find no place either at Social Security or the IRS websites to confirm that. I doubt that folks that started receiving benefits after May or June received it. Do not kno that but experience says.,

For those of you considering Windows 7 w/ XP mode
Lloyd Hudson replied to tilt's topic in General Chat
ATX told me that only 2008 and 2009 would run on windows 7. My IT guy said that anything that ran with Vista SHOULD work with W7. I am waiting because changing from Current XP Pro requires clean install and i would have to reload ALL my programs including 10 or 11 years of ATX and multiple other programs that I use on a daily basis. laplink says that they cannot support me yet. I really would like to change but am afeared. Running network with dedicated server and 3 workstations. Just my comments, no advice. -
http://www.easytruckingsoftware.com Just one of many from Owner operator and land line magazine. I have been out of trucking for a lot of years but have a client that uses this. Seems to work great.

Arizona Sales tax is complicated. I only do contractors but there are differnet rates for take out and table service. ATX bunny hop does not lead you through the details very well. tables and excel spreadsheets are at AZDOR.gov.

I did the adjustment on a corvette once, documented with current newspaper ads. Never heard a peep form the IRS. -
I have not tried it for a coouple of years. Like you said I create PDF then duplex print. But I did get ATX to print duplex but it screwed all the forms up/ Lschedule C on back of A etc. Does not recognize forms as individual items. Just a big package.
