  1. JB, thank you for the title to your post. I'm having a rough day, and that did make me smile, even though its about a problem :)
  2. I do wish they had something like that over there, but there are so many repeat posts of the same issues that solutions get buried, and I doubt half the posters know how to use the search function. Or even bother to scroll down the page. Like the jerk in the post right above me that is answering every post here with the same rant.
  3. What does that have to do with us? We are just other preparers and you come on here and spam our board.
  4. No, the version from last year wasn't very useful. At least I couldn't figure out what updated at any given time.
  5. Will you quit clogging the board with the same post over and over!
  6. Your Sch c is probably corrupted. Delete it from the master file and redownlad it.
  7. I click skip advertisement.
  8. I saw that same post on the official board. And I replied that she's full of bull; those questions were on the form before February 7; she just didn't bother to read the %#^*+ form. If you're relying on your software to know how to do a return-well she's one reason I was all for testing.
  9. I have; Windows Explorer. Freezes, crashes, and uses a lot of RAM. This I've noticed since I've had the task manager open while I'm working..
  10. Creating a "New Record" W-2 input screen in a rolled-over return generates a 6th record, leaving W-2 records 2-5 blank. This is sloppy I havn't downloaded 12.9, and I have this issue. have had it through several upgrades. Not just the W-2s, but you have to watch on 1099-G's as well.
  11. I'm printing fine in 12.8
  12. Can you use the 'rename' function while in the return?
  13. No mileage home though if it was cheaper to stay in town. Since he rented an apartment, it's cheaper to stay in town.
  14. I had to be fingerprinted for my license. Can't remember if I needed one for my EFIN. 2002 was a long time ago!
  15. Does the business card say Vista Print on the back? Run away!
  16. this year it rolls over but doesn't populate a new 1099-G. So it is improved.
  17. CA has been separate from the federal efile as long as I've been efiling-2003 tax year. I didn't send any CA efiles until the 30th since I wait for the federal to be approved until filing the state.
  18. My comment wasn't on the 'converted to personal' level, but simply to get the ball rolling. I should know better than to comment when I really need to be napping.
  19. Lodi to Sac isn't outside of his metropolitan area. For a temp job to apply, the commute has to be over 50 miles. But I agree that temp job to Sch C biz is deductible. Then back home is commute. My first CPA job was a commute from Sac to Stockton. 55 miles, and a nasty commute in fog season, which of course, coincided with tax season.
  20. Yes, don't forget to click 'apply' rather than just closing the window. That's hung me up a few times. If you don't apply the changes, they won't stick that's a change this year.
  21. Well, it's a distribution of property....
  22. Downloading any of the program updates isn't recommended from within the program. The only time I started having issues was when I mistakenly did that. I'm updating forms from in the program, but not program updates. Be sure ATX is shut down before you update too. And reboot your computer after installing even if it doesn't prompt you too.
  23. Yes, they were only posting it online since not everyone needed it, and it couldn't be downloaded from within the program for it to work right.
  24. Nah, sounds to me like you have an unrecognized character in one of the 'city' fields.
  25. Yes, [email protected] Open to tax pros as well as attorneys. Very good group for hashing out RDP/SSMC issues.
