No, CA has to be paper filed. Federal can be efiled.

Not enough memory?

I check the completed box in the efile manager once each efile is accepted. I filter the efile manager to only show incomplete.

Clients notes in ATX to be rolled over just like the address
joanmcq replied to Pacun's topic in General Chat
I added a note to remind myself that the client had an AMT adjustment for mortgage interest, and it rolled over and also reminded when checked for errors. Totally sweet feature. -
I hate going back to 2011 to do amended returns., because having more than one return open is SO nice. Bugs me when I can't do the same in the payroll module. 2013 is working well for me.

You need to know what kind of options they are: nonquals have a different tax treatment than restricted stock, than ESPPs than incentive stocke options. For example, ISOs are taxed for AMT at exercise, but not for regular tax.ask for the documents from the company regarding the options.

I had a loss the first year. But I only had 3 clients that year!
-
What type of option was it? And was there a sale or just an exercise?
-
Sure, the loss is $150. This is the usual effect of a same day excercise & sale of non-qualified options.

Global settings worked for me. Don't forget the elections statement!
-
My program indicator was green too, but I was still on 13.3, but when I clicked on it, I got the update.
-
Ah, let me try that.

Client wants to elect out of bonus depreciation; I added the elections statement and checked the appropriate election, but the fixed asset manager isn't recognizing the election. I've closed the client, closed the program, nothing works. Only thing I can think of is to not check 'new' for each asset.... any ideas, fixes?

They sure don't need QB to do check processing though. Too bad they won't do online banking. I get checks from clients all the time that are from their online accounts. I was hesitant to do banking online, but once I started, I won't go back to writing checks by hand!

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles too. Perhaps some of the more difficult clients wouldn't mind going on extension when they hear the reason for your not being able to do their work this year, and you could work at a slower pace. I hate to see you lose income as well with your troubles at this time. My condolences.

This Rev Rul only applies to NMS settlements. I just had a client that received a 1099 for a $3000 settlement payment from another program, but the fact pattern is the same. The borrowers did not have to prove they were actually harmed, and settlement amounts were based on specific classifications. Therefore not taxable?

I updated and rebooted the system just for fun since I hadn't rebooted in a few days and ATX opened very quickly after the install & reboot. I then did the workstation as Jack indicated. Both are working well....at least I haven't heard any howls of frustration from my assistant, so I assume all is good over there.

I do the same thing depending on whether I need cash or need $$ in the bank to pay bills. And now that my ATM is 'no envelopes', the condition of the cash since the ATM spits out bills it doesn't like :(

You have to enter the wages & allocate the amount from the home office. The return I've done already had both a Sch c home office & an employee home office. So it works, but it does taking some getting used to.

You need to add a 2106. I was in the same position last week....

As I said, my CU has required an ID to deposit. I hadn't thought about the laundering aspect, but I'm sure it's the pot dispensary issue here. The first time I asked the teller, "so I'm supposed to complain if someone wants to put money INTO my account?". I understand withdrawals. Now I do my banking at all odd hours, it's the ATM for me.
-
From the time you start the return? No wonder mine have been all out of whack. What a PITA
-
I've been asked by my credit union for ID for years whenever I make a deposit. Now I just use the ATM.

The date on the 8879 was the day before and the efile was created the day before and just for $@1+$ and giggles I recreated about an hour before they came in to sign, so it was all done within 24 hours..still rejected. I'd had several rejects before & never had to change the date on the 8879 in past years, just recreate. So this was a test. I know it's .CA. I've still just about had it.
