  1. Peeps are really good roasted over a campfire. Really. Especially at Burning Man. I broke down and bought a pie today. Just a little one, but I've been so good! Fit into jeans I haven't got into in 2 years. Which is good because I had no clean ones left.... Lion, I totally relate! Had a client show up unexpectedly right before I was going to get into the shower for my first batch of appointments. Ratty pink robe, slippers, hadn't combed my hair...but he is about 98, and handed me docs saying 'I can't seem to find all of them'. So I was IN the shower when the first appointment arrived.
  2. Mine all showed up today too! And one I scheduled last minute, as in ' can you come over right now? As I had a break between appointments. She had just moved into the neighborhood, so she was here in 5 minutes.
  3. I napped for real this evening and then took care of my sick kitty. 1am and back to work. But I delivered a ton of returns yesterday and today. The stack of returns to complete is shrinking, the stack of extensions is growing.
  4. The flowers I got don't have calories. Just smiles. But my lil girl kitty isn't doing too well. Just keeping her comfy and trying to keep her fluffy.
  5. I bought a case of energy bars right at the beginning of the season; 32 or 64 or some huge number of bars. That was breakfast & lunch. Was eating it while meeting with a client, and washing it down with a Monster. Don't care any more.
  6. I think that person that can 'take care of things' is Rita.
  7. Thanks for the correction; I just skimmed it and knew my clients didn't have to file it!
  8. Got. O answer for that, but why can't I find missing funds like that?
  9. He has to file the FINCEN, but I don't think an 8938 is required. I just looked at the instructions for the form to see if one of my clients needed to file it. The account limits are much higher if the taxpayer is living abroad. Sorry I only remember the limit is $150000 for an MFJ living in the US.
  10. I had some of that last night & today. Lots of last bits: bank account for someone who was not expecting a refund, NY apportionment data, working days & vacation & weekends all in a nice spreadsheet Program crashed on one big return, and I had to reboot the computer. Need dinner & a nap and more energy drinks. Bought a 10 pack of Monster today.
  11. Client is late for appointment that THEY requested back at the beginning of March. I text asking if they are on their way. Answer, no we are in Mexico. Didn't hear back from you. Huh, I emailed them right back confirming the date. So I text back, we'll file an extension. get an email back 6 hours later, "I screwed up, we didn't hear back from you so we went to someone in Chico" I emailed them twice, on March 5 & on March 27. I guess that's why they wanted a copy of their 2013 return on the 27th. Oh well, PITA return. But a decent bill.
  12. Max has had 3 users since 2012 at least. Do you have to buy all the modules separate? Where did you see the 2015 pricing?
  13. All nontaxable. I think the broker is doing this since all of the bonds sold are no gain or loss. Just going batshit now. Same client has two donations for a grand with receipts that don't have the 'no goods or services' statement. Why don't these groups know about this? Going back for new receipts before I can file.
  14. Client's 1099-INT has $797 of amortized bond premium in box 11 against some $34k of nontaxable interest. So I go to the detail, and there's another $22k of amortized bond premium NOT on the 1099. Is there anyplace I should report this? If so, where? Why me? Why now?
  15. I think there is one. TC something or other. ATX adds required forms if you try to create the efile, so that's how I always check
  16. I might sleep in. Haven't been to church on Easter since the last time it was after tax season. Miss it. Haven't even been to an AA meeting since February. I have to be on site at a client conference April 9-13. Gotta get it all done before then. At least I know there will be recovery meetings there. But my assistant's wife likes the refund they are getting so much she is going to buy me more Michael Rischutti chocolates. And a client sent me flowers today because she heard my kitty is sick.
  17. My office is upstairs, so I do a lot of stair climbing. 15 flights a day or so.

    Jainen

I haven't seen him anywhere on any board.
  19. I just finished two of these! The extension list is huge, though. But most of these people haven't even contacted me yet.
  20. Revised return across the top.
  21. When I've run into this, my payor manager usually has the EIN. That's all that's needed to add it. HOWEVER if you uncheck the add to payor manager box, you don't need any other info.
  22. She just said she ran a business, not a tax biz.
  23. Yes.
  24. The SEP isn't limited to $23k, there is an employee portion & a profit sharing portion. Look at the detailed calculation worksheet to see how the SEP is being calculated. If he only had a SEP, the limit would be about $46k if his SE income allowed it.
  25. I won't go there for the same reason.
