  1. I just got off the phone with customer service. I only waited about 10 minutes! before I talked to Andy. He said the most recent status update of MN efiling was "IN TESTING". This was the status as of 10 am Eastern time. I might add that he was very sympathetic when I had to "yell at him". I did also message William Tasker through this community. I haven't heard back from him, but will share any news with you here.
  2. Here's the reply I just received to an email sent yesterday: Good Morning Laura, I do apologize but we are still testing with the state of MN. Some of the MN forms are available for download but not all of them. We had a scheduled release date for the efiling of MN as today but as of this morning we are still testing. Again I do apologize for your inconvenience and we will release this state just as soon as possible. If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact our customer service department at 1-800-638-8291. Your incident number is 4668293. Tip Of The Day: We have a new login procedure for the MYATX website. If at any time you need to reset your password, click on the need help link from the login screen, click forgot password and then click reset. 3. Hello to all you fellow frustrated Minnesota preparers. I just checked the MN Revenue site and found the "Not Testing" note also. This has me really steamed now! After putting the date back so many times, then to find out that it hasn't even reached testing? I too remember sitting at the end of the line a few years back and being promised that we wouldn't have to go through this again. Anyone have any ideas as to who to contact at CCH? My email sent yesterday has not been answered as of yet and I really don't have the time to sit on hold.
  4. What would happen if you efiled the return now? The efile would be accepted by the IRS before the mailed in return got entered into the IRS system, correct? I don't know if an efiled return is even an option for this taxpayer, but does anyone know what would happen when the mailed in return arrives at the service center and a return has already been filed for that year?
  5. I just got off the phone with my client. She paid nothing out of pocket for the surgery. She does have mileage for several trips (600 miles/RT) to the city where she eventually had the surgery. The mileage would be at business rate, not medical, correct? She has motel stays and standard meal allowance?
  6. This is a new one for me. Maybe not for someone else here?? My client just brought me a 1099-Misc issued to her from a fertility clinic showing $4000 in Other Income. She told me that the money was for her eggs which the clinic harvested from her and were in turn "donated" to an infertile couple. She told me that the money was actually a gift from the couple and was passed on to her through the clinic. She said she was told that she would not have to pay income tax on this money. I don't know where to go with this one. I'm thinking hobby income?, deducting cost of goods sold? what would be the cost of an egg?? Help! .....anyone?
  7. I just sent $25.00. A real bargain considering what a valuable resource this forum is. I'm so glad I found all of you here! Thanks, erc, for setting this all up.
  8. The federal agency is the Financial Management Service. To inquire about an offset, their phone number is 1-800-304-3107. Shows "FMS" as debt code.
  9. RachelWV, I neglected to write down my new client ID also. I was able to find it by opening my program and going to the Support tab and clicking on About. The new client ID is there listed as the Client Number. I'm sorry, I can't help you with the new username and password though. Have a Happy Tax Season!
