  1. Taxpayer owns a condominium; he was also the owner of 50% on another house (owned jointly whith his brother who lives in that house) Taxpayer quit-claimed his share to his brother but he(taxpayer)is still listed in the loan (something he didn't realized until few days ago) Brother is making timely mothly payments on that house. Taxpayer's mortgage loan on the condominium is a fixed loan (low interest) but he does not want to continue paying the mortgage. He (the taxpayer) stopped making payments in May 2008. It looks to me as a case of a suddenly impulsive change of mind (his icome is enough to pay for the mortgage but he won't pay it anymore) What would happen in this scenario? Who will prevail? The financial institution or the taxpayer that refuses to continue paying the mortgage? If the condominium is foreslosed, would he (taxpayer) qualify for the exclusion if there is forgiven debt? Would the issue of being also listed as responsible on his brother's home mortgage loan comingle with the forclosure of the condominium? He might need the advice of an attorney but I would like to read your opinions. Thank you for taking the time to read the post Lucho
  2. Thank you, Tom
  3. How long do you normaly wait for a Form 2848 to be processed by the IRS? I Was told by an agent (from IRS) that it takes 48 hours. Does that mean counting 8 hours per day (business hours) or consecutive hours since the time one send the fax? I faxed one on Friday @ 9 a:m and called today (Tuesday) before 8 p:m but there was not record of it yet. My new client has a difficult case, so every minute count. Any help will be appreciated. Lucho.

I will keep the computer as remembrance (this was the computer I started my computerized business in 2000 and is still in great condition; of course not as useful as in 2000-2003 but still I can prepare nice documents in it. Mel, going into the programs menu as you say and clicking the "uninstall selection" I get the next message: "Run the uninstall "exe" file located in the Saber Directory (I guess Saber reffers to the program I bought) I have no idea how to find that file. 8. I need to remove completey the programs 2001-2003 from my old gateway computer Windows Me. The 2001-2003 programs are not listed in the Add/Remove programs any more but they are still in the system. The icons show in the desktop and the programs can be open and do returns if needed. Can someone guide me on how to remove them completely. Now with XP and Vista I forgot how to operate windows Me. Thank for any help I can get.

  12. Would someone please explain to me in simple words the meaning of Tier 1 and Tier 2 distributions that is shown on the Beneficiariy's Imput Sheet Sch. K1, Form 1041. When I look in the dictionary I get more confused. I am studying to have some knowledge that can help me next year; I am using the program to complete a sample trust return and even though everyting else is going well, I still need to understand in the practice what is Tier 1 and Tier2. As always, I thank you in advance and may God continue blessing this forum. Have all of you a wonderful day.

  14. Thank to everyone for your answer about the extra book I got. Now I Feel at ease. Now I have another question about the HP Color Lazer Jet 2600N. Is this particualr printer still a good office equipment? or may it become obsolete in the near future? I am in the process to buy a color lazer printer and I saw the one in question (The last one on display at Costco) showing a price of $190.00 before taxes. If I bought it, it will be connected to a Windows Vista appliction computer. Any suggestion or advice will be appreciated. Good night again and may God bless all of you.
