I'd like to say also, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Sometimes when I have a problem with my stand-a-lone computer, I will do the following to my Windows XP: Click on start, than click on all programs, than click on Accessories, than click on system tools, than click on system restore. I will pick a date in system restore when my computer worked ok before the problem started. But you should only do one system restore in any particular day. Let me know if this helps!

What is the web link to the Tax Book that you are talking about? What is the cost? Thanks for the information!

Here is what I do: I delete the last year's icon from my desk top by doing a right click on the icon and then clicking the word delete. Why do I need that icon on the desktop when I can get into the program another way? Also if later I want to get that icon on the desktop, I can create it again. Just my thoughts!

I haven't received my ATX Program disk as yet. I believe the problem was that they changed their way of sending the disk to us. Before I got my disk at my physical address by way of UPS. Now ATX is sending the disk to my post office. But it was not coming to my post office because my shipping address in their records had my physical address and not my post office box number. They had me change my shipping address. I hope to receive the disk next week. Why didn't ATX tell us this sooner? Some towns do not deliver mail to the physical address. You must pick up your mail at the post office.

Catherine: Do you have a link to your "Tax Document Checklist" that you created in an earlier year to be used as an organizer? Just wondering! If not does anyone else have one that you wish to share?

There are more menu items listed on left side when I go directly to the intelliConnect web site without going through the ATX program itself. I listed them in my previous post. You see a short list of menu items when I go through the ATX program. When I go to intelliConnect without going through the ATX program, there is more menu items listed as I show in my previous post. I was wondering if everyone has this same situation?

Question: When you open up a return in the ATX program you have a menu button that says IntelliConnect. My question is when you click on that button do you have the same information on the left side as you do when you go directly to the intelliConnect web site. In my ATX program I only have: ATX Home Company Information Product Catalog Contact Us Email Customer Service Tax Update Newsletter In the Web site I have a lot more information: ATX Blog, CS Emails, Manage My Account, Contact Info, Electronic filing, Online Pay, Shipments, My Products, Order History, Billing detail, Reports, Prior Year Unlock Codes, Enrollment center, Bank Products, FeeCollect, Audit Shield, Support, E-file status, Suggestion Box, Find a form, Knowledgebase, Suggested printers, Shipping schedule amd then the ones listed earlier under the ATX opened return. What do you have?

I have received two of these emails also. Why did we get them from CCH?

My runtime error also had the R6025 in the error message. When I went to the knowledge base it gave 10 steps. I'm not sure if my installation is complete. I was getting this error message but when I restarted my computer I don't get it now. I did not have to press the Ctrl + Alt + delete as step 1 says. My ATX 2009 icon is on my desktop and I can open it up. So what of those 10 steps am I to do? Thanks for your help!

After downloading the ATX program from MyATX web site, I get a runtime error! Why am I getting this error? It keeps coming up on my computer.

I have not received my ATX program either. It is now December 9. I have called them two times. Before I got my program by UPS. Now it is coming through the post office. Hope it comes in the next few days. From Nov. 23 to December 9 seems like a long time.

Tax on guns you own. I received an email that said guns must be listed on 2010 tax return. Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 Tax form all guns that you have or own. It will require fingerprints and a tax of $50 per gun. Text of H.R.45 as introducted in House: Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 Have any of you received such an email? What is the truth about this? I thought we had a second amendment that protected our right to bear arms.

What is the latest update in regard to the ATX program version? I have installed skype on my computer and am wondering if it is affecting my downloading of the updates? Do any of you have skype on your computer and has it affected your ATX program updates? Skype allows you to see another person as you talk to them on the computer. Thanks for your response.

This is a mathematical challenge, and it's been said that: If you're an engineer (or machinist), you should be able to solve it in (under) three minutes, If you're an architect, in three hours;? If you're a doctor, in six hours;? If you're an accountant, in three months and? If you're a lawyer, probably never. If you're good at math or logical problems, solve this challenge!! What is the missing number in this logical series?? 1, 2, 6, 42, 1806, __________??? How long did it take you to find the answer?

As I understand it, ATX is the company that produces the software. If we buy that product from another buyer, how does that help ATX to produce such good product. I would also rather talk to a ATX tech than one that just sells this product. Teck support as well as this good board is very important to me. I guess when you have a good product everyone wants to get a piece of it.

I add my thanks along with the others. Thank You KC Dan

I had a call from TRX about renewing the ATX program with them. I will not renew the program with them. Have any of you also received such a call? I like renewing the ATX program with ATX themselves.

Thanks for responding!!! Question 1: 2008 Tax return: You are in the U.S. June 5, 2008; If you work backwards you have June 4, 2008 to June 5, 2007 or changing it around June 5, 2007 through June 4, 2008. The June 5, 2007 through June 5, 2008 covers a 12-month period. From the previous question: you were in the U.S. Sept. 16 to Oct. 7, 2007 or 21 days. 365 days-21 days = 344 days. Can you use the physical presence test in 2008? Question 2: Can you work backwards as I have done in Question 1 to get my 330 days?
-
Question: What does this uninterrupted period including entire tax year mean? Say for example you are in a foreign country all of 2007 except 42 days. 7 days from March 1 through March 7; 14 days from May 1 through May 14; 21 days from Sept. 16 through Oct. 7. 1. Question 1: Since you are in the U.S. for the above dates does this mean year 2007 was interrupted? 2. Question 2: What does it mean by temporary trips back to the U.S.?

Can you efile a return after you send in Form 4868 (Application for Automatic Extension of Time)? I know Kansas speaks about sending in the federal form (4868) when you mail in the Kansas Return? Say you send in Form 4868 on April 15, is it ok to efile the return on April 16?

I understand that since none of the days in number 1 & 2 above are in the time span of January 1, 2008 through June 4, 2008, you don't use either. Part III has to do with the 2008 year. You don't use number 1 above because it involves the 2007 year. You don't use number 2 above because it is after June 4, 2008 Is this correct?

Question about "Physical presence test" in Form 2555-EZ If you have this 12-month period (6/5/2007 to 6/4/2008) in (Form 2555-Ez, part 1, 2b), what days present in the U.S. in Part III are you to use? 1. Are you to enter in Part III (9/16/2007 - 10/7/2007) 2. Are you to enter in Part III (6/5/2008 - 1/6/2009)
