  1. The SS website is down for maintenance until next week. I think it said the 22nd.
  2. They just posted a fix for the 1040N E-file that worked. I discarded the 1040N and NE EF info and replaced them. When I created the e-file, it worked. YEAAAAA!
  3. I just had this happen with the 2006 program. I don't use ATX's PDF button, because it stinks! I change my printer to pdf factory, which is an old program from the good ATX days. I'm not tech smart enough to tell you if there are any other printers that will work.
  4. I just answered Jack for Ohio on this. I believe that ATX misinterpreted the IRS instructions and will have to fix this error. I hope that the IRS didn't screw up this bad. Unfortunately you will need to E-mail or call support. Tell them that this a programming error and see if they will route you to a higher support person and not waste time. Good luck!
  5. Under form field references for individual income tax returns on the IRS website, I found Form 1098 Explanation line 16a and Form 1098 name/address 16b. I don't know what this means. I can't believe that you have to have a 1098 for any ohter interest to be deductible. Hopefully, ATX just misinterpreted the regs. I haven't done a Schedule C yet this year. Good luck with customer support. I spent an hour this morning with a very nice person, but if they would have handed me to a higher tech immediately, I would have gotten done a lot faster. Mine is a programming error.
  6. I just finished talking to a customer support person in KS for an hour. There is a programming error. No idea when it will be fixed. I guess I'll tell my client that she can take a paper check for NE if she can't wait.
  7. Yes, the 8453N is OK. They don't sign it anymore. You send attach the various forms to the 8453N and mail it in. NE says that they will give those returns priority processing. The new E-file rules are on the NE website. I'm on hold again with ATX trying to get them to fix the form.
  8. Thanks, Beth. What a bunch of #@?**. I'm waiting for answers for 2 E-mails from yesterday and they don't answer the phone within 15 minutes today. I'm afraid that I'll be walking next year. I hate to, because I've been really happy with this software until now.
  9. That is wonderful! Congratulations to Danielle and family. I really appreciate how all of you have helped us on this site, even though you didn't have to. I have a funny feeling that Danielle will be pretty busy for a while. Bonnie
  10. Has anyone been able to create a NE E-file with a direct deposit? I haven't received a response from ATX since yesterday. I keep getting the message the checking and savings boxes on the state form must equal the checking and savings boxes entered on the state E-file form. Restore these fields. I've done that multiple times, replace the forms and still nothing works. I know that this was a problem a few years ago, but I can't remember if I can fix it myself or not. Thanks! Bonnie
  11. I can't even create a NE e-file, yet because there is a program error. I'm back to having the same problems with importing W-2 information that I was having last week. No response to my e-mails.
  12. Beth, If he didn't actually start the business in 2007, the equipment should be depreciated starting in 2008 when it was put in service. Bonnie
  13. Is anyone else still having problems inporting the W2 information from Quickbooks? I had one client where is actually worked and now it's dropping the SS#'s again. I uploaded the file to ATX to see if they can figure out what is wrong. Thanks! Bonnie
  14. Gail, I'm not an expert, but I don't think that the IRS accepts E-files for a prior year. I'm not sure of the cutoff, but I think that's in December. I believe that you will have to mail it. Bonnie
  15. That's great! I still can't, because it says that the 8880 is still not approved.
  16. Thanks! I just updated again and it finally said that the EIC form had been updated. It had never said anything before, even though I was using the EIC form.

    E-file

Pedro, I still can't create an e-file because of the EIC and 8880 form. The website says that they are approved, but obviously not in my program. I'm going to e-mail them later, but I'm working on payroll tax reports now. Bonnie
  18. Does anyone's form update report actually say anything? When I try to look at mine, there is nothing there, even after it supposedly downloaded updates. Maybe there is something in my computer blocking updates? My EIC form says that it is version 21, which was the good one last night according to the ATX website. It still wouldn't let me create an e-file. I'll keep trying. Thanks! Bonnie
  19. Cliff, I am having the same problem. I have the version 21 form EIC and it says that it is not approved when I try to create an e-file. It is the same with form 8880. Bonnie
  20. I just talked to Kimberly at ATX and they are still having issues with imports from QuickBooks before 2006. I haven't been able to update all of my clients to 2007 yet, so I will have to wait for another update to the program.
  21. I will check and see if I am doing that. Thanks! Bonnie
  22. Yes, I do. I guess we will just have to wait to e-file. Bonnie
  23. I couldn't find anything on the ATX website about it.
  24. It is taken care of thru the filing of the W-2's. You don't file it separately.
  25. Has anyone managed to import W2 text files from QuickBooks successfully yet? Bonnie
