  1. Omaha, NE 1. Our nationally acclaimed zoo 2. Held the Olympic Swim Trials in 2008 (which I volunteered at) and we hope to have then again in 2012. 3. Not Omaha, but the NE Cornhuskers 4. We have a stupid $20,000,000 foot bridge across the Missouri River and we are building a new baseball stadium to keep the College World Series that we can't afford. I love the CSW, by the way.
  2. Right click on the bunny on line 40 and you can enter it on the worksheet that pops up. If you have a schedule A and they can't itemize, you check the box on the same worksheet for line 40. Bonnie
  3. I am getting some wierd message about Oracle when I try to get on the ATX website. Is anyone else able to get through? Thanks! Bonnie
  4. I have used Radmin and now use VPN. I can print at the office from home, but I can't print office stuff at home. I probably could if I was smart enough, because my bookkeeper can print from QuickBooks at home.
  5. The message is can't find default web browser.
  6. I am trying to transmit my first W-2's this year and keep getting this message before it can even start testing. I've never had this problem in years past. Under internet options, it looks like I have IE set as the default browser. I'm just not sure if this is my computer being difficult, an ATX problem or something with SSA's website. Maybe I should just wait and do them later. Thanks! Bonnie
  7. I just logged on now. Bonnie
  8. I have always received acks for 1099's. It may take a long time, but I always got them. I think that I saw someone say on one of the boards that they had received at least one 1099 ack this year.
  9. At least this time the IRS is to blame, not the tax software. It still annoys the heck out of me.
  10. Just got my first ack back- rejected! It was my return and apparently somewhere in the e-file it says that I'm over 70 and can't make an IRA contribution. I don't know where it is, because I checked the dates that I havefor us and they are correct. How depressing! I'm twenty years older and haven't even made it through the first month of the season. I recreated it and hopefully, it will not kick back.
  11. Thanks, KC. Maybe the new guy should declare an amnesty period so that everybody in the country that screwed up could pay their taxes. They could just say that it was a mistake. It would probably bring in a lot of money. Bonnie
  12. Kerry, I don't think the facial hair goes with your jewelry. Thanks for the laugh. We all need it this time of year. Bonnie
  13. Thanks, Jack. I informed them of the correct way to do it and the penalties for incorrect filing. Bonnie
  14. I don't have the engagement letter yet. I did read her the rules and told her that there would be probably be penalties when she amended them.
  15. I received a call from a bookkeeper for a small oil producer. She is new and discovered that the old bookkeeper had been reporting working interest payments in the royalty box. She says that there are around 10 investors that receive 1099's. This has been going on for many years. I don't see how she can go back a long time and change the 1099's. Should I tell her to go back three years and amend them? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
  16. No thanks! I still haven't heard anything back. I've left three messages and a fax. I don't know how much more they expect when their own employees don't answer their calls. Their organization is pretty messed up. I started a state audit in August and didn't hear anything back from the auditor until the last week of December. She had all of the information, but just didn't get around to it. Hopefully, we can get it finished this month.
  17. Thanks. I did that when I faxed over the POA. I still haven't heard anything yet.
  18. I would call their technical support first, unless they were a pain to deal with.
  19. Thanks, Doug. I wondered if they would be gone. Then I read this morning that they are moving the offices now. Hopefully, I will hear soon. Bonnie
  20. I have been calling an auditor since December 19, 2008 to try to set up an audit for a client. I finally went ahead and faxed over the POA on 12/29/08 and left another message. I called again today and no answer. Her voice mail just says that she is away from her desk. We were supposed to have responded by December 25. My client is worried that they will be in trouble, because this hasn't been scheduled. The only telephone numbers that we have are the ones on the letter dated December 15. Should I just wait until I hear from her or try to contact someone else over there? I don't want to aggravate her by going around her. This is in the Omaha office. Thanks! Bonnie
  21. I was glad that it was Spike that saved the world from the Uber-vamps though. It was hysterical that Anya was terrified of bunnies.
  22. I haven't received any books yet.
  23. Joel, I am locked out, also. I called ATX yesterday and he told me what to do and that he had unlocked it, but it didn't work. I gave up because I don't have time to screw around with it right now. I'll call them later. Bonnie
  24. Thankfully, he didn't marry his crazy ex-fiance last year, so I don't have to worry about spousal income.
  25. Thanks, KC. I was pretty sure that I was handling it right, at least until he gets a house. I have no idea as much as these guys are making, how any of them are making out ahead of the 2%.
