    E filing

Tom, it's another PIA I went in to try it and it keeps telling me I either got married & didn't change my name or my AGI from last year is not correct. I guess it's not worth the hassle. Eli
  3. My sentiments exactly, Tom. I am very worried about this season. You & I are not some big company that can afford to lose any clients. I think as soon as April rolls around, i will definite be seriously looking at other software. Eli

    E filing

Pacun, I believe the IRS will no longer send those letters. As long as you efiled one return the previous year you should be good to go. I think this is what was said previously. Eli
  5. Good one, Jainen!!

I use the Free AVG AntiVirus program. It's worked fine for me. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/ Eli
  9. School records showing the the address for the child & the grandparents. Doctor records showing the same. It's important these items get taken care of when the child moves in or as soon as possible thereafter. Eli
  10. I've been using an HP 4100 for the past 2 years. It works great. I get toner cartridges from Databazaar.com at good prices too. Eli
  11. I think this was so that people would take the training seminars ATX was putting on. Just another way to make more money. Saved on literature & made money on the classes. Eli
  12. Slappy, I don't think it would work for income taxes due. I believe it is only for those other debts. They could call the IRS or their state dept of revenue to see if they owe back taxes. Eli
  13. Thanks for the correction, Don!! I forgot about the middle one :-) Eli
  14. That's correct, Bill. I believe they are talking about regular 1040 program. It only comes with the 1st 100 efiles free. Eli
  15. That's the one....thank you so much!! I just couldn't remember the name. Eli Thanks Tom & Atticus
  16. and back child support? Thanks for any help!! Eli
  17. I still can't seem to enroll thru ATX for bank products. It seems like last year was so much easier. If I'm not mistaken, by this time last year I had my checks and was pretty much set to go. I hope it's not a preview of things to come!! Eli
  18. The approval comes from the bank. If the bank has approved your application, then the next step would be to register thru ATX. I'm not sure if that process is ready to go or not. I tried a couple of weeks ago, but it wouldn't work. I haven't tried since. Eli
  19. Marilyn, May you have a blessed New Year!! Eli
  20. I agree with Gene, let's just make money without the workload. Eli
  21. Happy New Year! Bulldog Tom & I have been discussing this too. There supposedly will be a $10.00 fee charged for each bank application efiled. We have yet to see anything in writing anywhere stating anything about this charge. From what I understand ATX will keep $6.00 & the preparer will get $4.00 for each application at the end of the season. Again, We haven't seen or been able to find anything on ATX's site or correspondence where they state anything about this charge. Eli
  22. BulldogTom, referred me over to www.Databazaar.com a couple of years back. I've been using them since for my toners. They have been great!! No problems and they have free shipping! Eli
  23. Speaking of forms update, anyone know when the EIC form will be released? Eli

    Crooked Preparers

A friend's parents went to this lady to have their return prepared. They said she added on mortgage interest (they don't have a mortgage), unreimbursed employee expenses & medical expenses. The only thing they actually had was some medical expenses due to a surgery done on the wife. I had also been hearing from several other people about how it was possible for their friends to be getting such large refunds when they were working at the same place and pretty close to same salaries, etc.. A friend has 2 brothers working at the local IRS office, one I believe is a revenue agent the other is an investigator. I just gave them a heads up. I'm not sure if they acted on my tip or maybe had other info. The manager of the local HRB also mentioned this lady a couple of times. She had also been hearing stories coming from that place. Eli
