Oh! How Cool! Thanks guys and gals....I love you all. Am not at home so cell was ringing steady. Hubby joins me later today. Getting ready for family gathering here on Sat (his). Mon is our Anniversary....lots of years. Thanks again!
-
John, I can't think of a thing that you missed. Do we all have the same clients?????
-
If you don't like Gene's idea; I believe that any one of us would be happy to send you a Tax Organizer.....
-
And mine....in fact, I am almost certain that when the notice came of the June 20th extension; it said that if you had already renewed, you did not need to enter again. I don't have that particular e-mail on this computer, but will check it when I get home. Also, I did not receive the one congratulating the winners. If, indeed they did draw on May 31, congratulations to all. If they know about this board, it would be nice if they would identify themselves.

Very Interesting Thread....as in, teaching "old dogs" new tricks. Thanks all!
-
This makes four who will do it for free. Never hesitate to ask a question as we are all deeply in your debt....

Poor Eric's head has to be spinning if he read this entire thread as I just did after a long hard day of work. He might want to stick a fork in all of you as he asked for a "simple" answer; which is NO, unless something material is involved and he is receiving no benefit from it....

Not silly at all....there are lots of trees in this forest and sometimes even though you have already used a particular feature, it is not always easy to remember where you found it.....keep asking!

Update.......and now they are calling to with reminders that the time is running out for renewals with discount. Odd...because I don't recall them calling me more than once or twice before in the course of ten or so years. The call came within days of the e-mail. I was at a meeting so got to listen to the message. In all fairness, though, have to say that Taxslayer is also calling as a followup to demo they sent out. Truthfully, money is tight out there in all phases of supply and demand that I, personally deal with. I know that my husband's business is suffering acutely and there is a definite slowdown at the Dental Office in which I work part time.

For those of you who have shown some questions or concern; here is the last line of the e-mail. I have taken lines out of context only because there is a savings code in the text that may or may not matter. Good Night all........ Your ATX Total Satisfaction Team P.S. If you have already renewed, then you will be automatically entered in this drawing.

An interesting question, indeed. However, I believe that many will renew early as $100 means a lot to many people. Unless you are getting in excess of 10% interest on your savings, a frugal person would want to save that 10% if their intention is to renew eventually. On the other hand,; ATX might be getting nervous as the renewals are probably not coming in as fast as they had hoped or expected. If they are monitoring this board (?), they know that many of their customers are looking elsewhere, whereas in prior years there was no reason or desire to do so. Remembeer, though, that many, many of their subscribers don't even know about the controversy as they not only never used, but never heard of the ATX Community board. I can only hope that they continue to provide a useful, affordable and very workable product for the small businesses who will be forced out if they cannot justify purchasing tax software. That would include me; but I am old enough to call it quits even though I really wouldn't want to at this point....

Remember the useless airline tickets of a few years back? In any event, I don't need a new coffee pot, but could use a toaster. John, my take is that renewals may not be coming in as fast as they would like. They need to plan on how much revenue they will have for development. But, they threw us out with the bath water and now they would like our loyalty back. Am still thinking this one over....

Good to have you with us. As far as we know, ATX is remaining the same for 2007 with the exception of some of the pricing going up. You should have gotten both a mailer and an e-mail regarding your renewal. If not, go to the website and check out the pricing for the materials that you are interested in. Also, 10% discount if ordered before June 30. Good Luck and welcome aboard.

 Below is an excerpt from an e-mail that I just received from ATX. Read whatever you want to into it. I no longer completely trust them; but I have a great deal of admiration for their software. I have to hope that they won't regress in quality of product. Dear ATXer, You know that you can receive a 10% discount if you renew your ATX software by June 30. Well, if you renew by June 20, 2007, you'll be automatically entered in a drawing for one of three prizes.$5,000, $3,000 and $2,000. That's right.we're giving away a total of $10,000 to three ATXers just for renewing early this year. You don't often get the chance to win a lot of cash for doing something you were going to do anyway.

Erc, that would be IE 7.0.5.............Thanks
-
Thank you Erc....I will boot up the other one and get you that info. It is a small annoyance; buy why be annoyed when it can be fixed. I hate having to learn all this new stuff. Not that I am opposed to learning and knowledge,; but I am of the "If it's not broke, don't fix it!" school. Later......

I am no longer having any problems with this computer. However, with new laptop, I have to log in every time. Strange thing is that I just type in the first letter of my user name and it auto fills in the user name and password and logs me in. Just an annoying (slightly) extra step; but strange.

Yes.....and in 2007, she can file as surviving spouse.
-
That one should be added to the "Powers of Observation" test. I didn't know that one either....Thanks for bringing it up and clarifying...
-
Darn....I only got 19.

Of the umpteen printers that I have purchased over the years; I have never listed any of them. Home Office and have two connected as we write..........
-
Actually, that is what we do with every new computer. Was fortunate enough to get new laptop in Jan before Vista and am very happy with it. I did qualify for and did receive Vista Premium Update, but, needless to say, will not be installing it. Too many issues and not only with ATX. Isn't this board just the tops? I love it!

R Cooper....that is just human nature. Isn't it even more inflating when the error was made by another paid preparer? Usually HRB,; but I have a local preparer who is notorious for messing up and many of those cross my desk. The main thing is to be satisfied with and proud of the work that we do. I want my clients to feel that I prepare their returns just as if it were my own; and that is actually the case. Many times I get too emotionally involved and even more often I don't charge for the additional research, etc. But, when a return leaves my office, I feel that it has been prepared to the best of my ability (whatever that may be) and I am here for them the entire year and not just during tax season....

I didn't mean to tell a lie. That is just what the Postmaster told me. I stand corrected!

41 cent stamps have been on sale here in rolls of 100 for three weeks that I know of. Forevers only come in books of 20.
