I note that I have recently become designated "advanced member"..previously I was a "newbie" and then a "member". I haven't advanced anywhere except age & girth, but I really don't care what I am called. I am curious however just how these designations become???? I spent an hour trying to find an explaination and just gave up and asked you!!! :P

yes. the last year all dist is taxed to beneficiaries.

so now myatx.com is going to require new pasword procedure after 10/23/07. i printed out the three pages of instructions as directed. i read them. most are standard, but i really resent that i will have to change my password twice during tax season. i would respectfully suggest that few of us can remember a new password that changes every 45 days. grrr. if i write it down, i lose the purpose of security. is cch goofy or is it time for this old dog to retire??? :angry:

Executor/Representative has election of fiscal year ending any month prior to DOD. Therefor can elect fiscal year of 12/31/07. Considerations: A. Elect ending month that allows (as far as possible)balanced cash flow - thereby minimizing tax. B. IF estate will be closed in less than 12 months, just file one 1041 with final distrubution of net income/loss as distribution to beneficiaries. Hope this helps.

But KC - that was the fun part. Pacun, over the years, has earned a great deal of respect from all of us. We consider him a reliable and responsible source of information. When he deliberately and obviouslly omitted pertinent data, we all smelled a rat. Most uf us erred in assuming the rat to be the client &/or the thief - anyone but Pacun. He gotcha & me & lots of others!!!! Love it! zeke
