For this newer year, check the ATX website efile status first and if your return appears, click on rehang.

Abby, I think your search in Intelliconnect was limited to the US Master tax Guide. I searched that and got 23 references to the US Master Tax Guide. They're listed as links and I clicked on the link with the 1515 reference and got your results. If you searched using 'All Content', you'll get a lot more links. And both Intelliconnect and CodeConnect have cases. From your post of AnswerConnect, it does appear to give you a better explanatory result with the links to the various sources.

I can't say for sure but I think the difference has to do more with the look of the site. Seems to be more IT glitz and presentation and what comes up in a particular search. And a gimmick to get more money. Maybe Abby can shed more on this. The two I have available with ATX both have access to code, regs, forms, pubs, etc. Also explanatory comments, etc. I'm like you, I like to start with the form instructions, then pubs, then code and regs. I suppose the proper way is to start with the code. But I never seem to get to the specific issue or example I'm looking for when going straight to the code and regs first.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to follow up on mine.

I assume the household employer is not withholding the employee FICA and is paying both halves themselves. Why not just consider it a gift and forget about the grossing up.
-
I didn't want to pay that much more. Total tax is enough for now.

My issue is with the 2016 program. Have a C corp with a June 30 FYE. Efiled the return a couple of days ago, no ack back yet. Just wondering.
-
Is this still going on? Still seems like a delay.

Is AnswerConnect included with the Advantage product? I have the Total Tax product. I have both Inelliconnect and CodeConnect included. If I log into Intelliconnect directly, there is a link to CodeConnect. But when I'm in the ATX program and click on Tax Research, it takes me to CodeConnect and there is no link to go to Intelliconnect. It seems if I want to use Intelliconnect, I have to log in directly and not thru the tax program.

Is AnswerConnect more complete than Intelliconnect?
-
I have the Total Tax Office package. I think that is the 2nd top level under Advantage that adds a little more. Is Answer Connect the same as Code Connect? When I click on Tax Research inside the program it shows a notice that I am being redirected from Answer Connect to Code Connect. So I was wondering if that is just a re-naming. Then there's Intelliconnect. I can access by going directly to the site but not thru the software program anymore.

What is the difference between CodeConnect and Intelliconnect? When in the program, clicking on the Tax Research button, it takes me to CodeConnect after first going to something called AnswerConnect. I can go to Intelliconnect directly on line but not while in the ATX program. Then there is the hovering over a line on a form while in ATX. This takes me to a tax research where you have to fill in some boxes but the year 2017 is not available. This doesn't see to do much for me.

I don't charge by the form. I do keep a time sheet but don't charge strictly by an hourly rate. I have a minimum of $100 for a simple return, $150 for a simple Sch A return. I suppose 'simple' can vary. I quote the minimum and ask a few questions, quote a range and tell them it could be higher depending on their circumstances.

Seems like a given. What seems like a good idea still has to be formatted somehow.
-
But sometimes, we need a little dippity doo daa!
-
I haven't heard anything official for ATX but I assume there will be a delay before we can use it.
-
Notice the footnote. 'Subject to interpretation by IRS. Be sure to consult your tax professional.' Ha. We are the tax professionals.

Can an employee still request a flat dollar withholding in addition to whatever the table shows? Seems like they could do so in the past without trying to navigate the W4.
-
Not so sure. I'll have to look up sometime.
-
Not sure of your specific example. But I was wondering too about a couple with children. Joint standard deduction goes up but they lose the personal exemptions. Maybe for some, the child credits increase.

Pacun, thanks. I had already done the import though. Abby, thanks for the info. These tiles appear at the top and looks like the number is limited to 8. By default, they will show the most recent. I can pin a tile to show up all the time. This looks helpful but limited. The previous W8 IE11 showed the Favorites drop down list in the form of tiles at the bottom of the screen and allowed sorting into sub-categories just as the Edge drop down list does.

Yes, this is what I was looking for, tiles within the browser.
-
It's under Windows Accessories in the list of apps. It opens up the IE browser but it doesn't help. With Win8, within the browser, there was star at the bottom. When I clicked the star, a row of tiles popped up across the bottom showing my favorite websites. In Win10, using the IE, this function isn't there. There is the star in upper right which gives me a pop down list of favorites. This feature is also in Edge. No tiles of favorites across the bottom. Oh well.
-
I don't mind Edge (so far). I was just looking for a way to show the favorites as tiles across the bottom of the screen (instead of the pop down list).

I'm trying to get used to my Win10 desktop. I liked the tiles of Win8. Win10 seems to have a combo look. My question is for the browser. Win8 used IE11 I think. It had the website tiles at the bottom to quickly go to my most common websites. With Win 10 using the Edge browser, I don't see the tiles. There's a pop down list for favorites but is there a way to display the tiles for favorites?
