I would like an invitation to join in on this venture. I have no ties with CCH other than being a MAX user today and for the last few years. Karen Lee

I agree with Tom, Eli. I have same issue going on with Chiro in town. Karen

Go take a nap. Glad you are home and all is well with the two of you. Karen

I would be more willing to visit my new venture in Hawaii on my own dime! Karen

Thanks for the heads up. Love this board.

mine say validated by EFC...is that E-File Center? ATX EFC? IRS EFC? Don't know the answer and really don't expect to know until Monday. Maybe someone can tell us the new staus names and what they mean. Karen

Doesn't it make sense to only support 1 program? What do you think our future holds? Karen

I became terribly frustrated with the log-in to MyATX. I kept getting in once and then couldn't get in the second time. It just had to be something I wasn't doing correctly. I spent days just reading this board and resigned that I couldn't log-in. When it finally got to the point that I REALLY needed to get into MyATX and took the big step to call tech support. Took very deep breaths and dialed...On hold for quite awhile but I don't think it was 15 minutes before I got some help. That really long # is now posted on my monitor in 24pt. When I initially set up for log-in and received my Client ID, set my user name and created password and came up with a "secret" question, all was well until I logged out and tried to log in again. The last time on the phone with tech support for the same problem (4th) I asked to confirm my procedure. Well Well Well No more user name that I created. Use ADMIN. locked? use the 20 digit number for the password then change the password. Do not forget that when you change the password after getting in the the 20 digit # that it is your current password. For all the security this new log-in is suppose to provide to someone, you can call and give them a Client ID and you are in to THAT Client ID MyATX account. Other than the log-in problem there hasn't been TOO much to complain about. Still a little anxious but trying to maintain a positive outlook. Looking for my Klienrock research materials though. Karen

I use to have Norton and had no problems until I decided not to renew and go with AVG. Norton/Symantec then started really messing with my computer. Had to take it to the shop and when they finally tracked all the Norton and Symantec files and uninstalled/deleted them all quirky stuff stopped. AVG automatically updates daily and starts a scan in the background. I have not realized any "slow downs" when scanning either. Window will pop up that scanning is complete and you can check the test results. Captured a couple viruses or worms or trojan horses over the last few years before any damage was caused. I am blessed with renting office space from the local "computer store" which is next door. I also do payroll and state taxes for them so I do have some priority with them if they need my services. Blackmail extortion whatever works for me. Karen Lee

I use Republic Bank also. I received the e-mail and thought GREAT!! I am locked out of MyATX and I've e-mailed support only to have the e-mail come back without an answer. Also DHL returned my supplies to Republic Bank because they couldn't deliver because of the flooding here in Washington however I-5 was closed for 4 days in the beginning of December. Republic has re-shipped via DHL, I have a tracking number but can't figure out how to track it from the DHL website. Can't even try to print a check. No checks and no way to log-in. But SO WHAT...Sch EIC won't be ready until 1/15 and who knows when the 1040 EF Info will be ready. Bought a new computer 12/31 and it still isn't working right, it is back in the shop. Vista! Someone needs to tell me what is so special about it. Resistant to change!! You know you are getting old when... I've got plenty of W-2 and payroll quarterlies to do to be worrying about Taxes and E-filing!! Bring on the Prozac............ Karen Lee

Thanks Gregg...I looked it up. Not the first time someone has tried to do this to me. Makes me wonder about the rest of his stuff. I was reluctant to take him on anyway and this just clinches it. Guess I won't do the research on Foreign Earned Income either. Really appreciate it. Karen

OMG!!!I have never completed a Form 2555 nor researched all it entails however this guy comes in and wants to know what I know about Foreign Earned Income and "Sailors Tax" and Farm Taxes. OK, got the Farm thing, been doing 'em for years, know where to get the info on the Foreign Earned Income but the Sailors Tax has me stumped. What I have sorted out is the Sailors tax is like a per diem deduction for Merchant Marines which has different rules. The only thing I can find is the different per diem rates for OCONUS travel vs. CONUS travel. Now is the time for me to get this research behind me so when he comes in during the Spring I'll be so full of information and knowledge that I can knock it right out but I need clarification on this Sailor's tax thing. Am I on the right track or is there something waaaaaay special? Thanks for your opinions Karen

Well no Fee Collect for me. Can't do Fee Collect and Bank Products. RALs are the biggest reason for my clients to go to HRB in the first place. I have offered RALs in the past but never "sold" them because the fees are ridiculous. Of course a couple of those people who used HRB for the RAL had to come to me to have their returns amended and then told them that I had the same service available...So this season I will promote the bank products. Karen

Thanks for the encouragement. Really appreciate it. Karen
-
That's wonderful!! Good for you.

Just found out that HRB is moving in 1 block away from me. I think I will offer everything this year including Fee Collect. I am somewhat worried about this coming tax season but next tax season I am sure I will have old business back and new business from people that used HRB. My advertising budget has just been increased substantially. Karen

They are the uni-forms and used with ATX W-2 and 1099 program. Karen

Actually meant "blank" not bland, maybe boring, could be troublesome...

I just went shopping for my forms for YE 2007. The pricing at Tenenz was significantly lower than the site ATXinc.com sent me (Nelco). www.tenenz.com Karen

My first year of e-filing I didn't send in 8453 for one taxpayer out of over 100. Got my letter that year. Couldn't figure out how procedure didn't work. However I managed to send in the 8453 for my own tax return and I was forgiven and allowed to continue e-filing. I believe 8453's cannot be used for next season. Karen Lee

Since PMI will be deductible it won't stop someone from deciding to purchase a home. The question remains: What is a qualified home? I was at the IRS site and couldn't find anything on the tax law change that gives the definition. Karen
