"Unexpected Error Program Needs to Close"? Try this!
RitaB replied to Abby Normal's topic in General Chat
You're talking to the least obnoxious person on earth, you know. Might as well tell me to not be a smart ass. -
OMG, yes! And when a client waits a month to pick up you don't sit there going "Uh, WTH did I do there?"
-
Enter the positive amount on the appropriate line of the Line 21 worksheet, then enter a description on one of the blue lines down there on the worksheet and enter the negative amount. Print the worksheet, cause if you're like me, you'll forget what happened.

Hahaha the emoticon says it all, there, jasdlm. And, crap, if I had known pictures of the inside of my mouth would substantiate dental expense, I coulda got past the 10% shave. Also, don't let me forget to run down to the landfill and take pictures of my donations for 2015.

And hopefully the pictures are not of seven black garbage bags.

And I will give pie to anyone with Form 8283 who can actually itemize. Which is also one in 100.

I've had that happen a couple of times too. I usually say, well do you think I should leave off your W-2 as well? Cause look - they held out taxes here. -

I've been clicking on that "x," too, cause dang it, I need to work more than the program needs to close. -
Oh, thank God, and I forgot vacuuming and wasting time on here. Thank God.

OMG, I thought you worked with other people and/or employees. You have 145 in the pile and you're the one chit-chatting, answering the phone, doing the dishes, doing the monthly bookkeeping, cleaning the toilet, running the copies, eating the Cadbury mini eggs, buying yourself the flowers? I feel like such a failure right now. OMG.

Yeah, overkill is underrated. I'd send both. Speaking of last names, I have a couple who've been married 50 years. We discovered thru e-file that IRS still had her maiden name, and SSA had her married name. I could not believe it. Husband got it straightened out spring of 2014. Well, we think. Gonna find out when I submit the 2014 e-file. I told them I didn't think they were even married, and all this time they have been faking on all of us. They got a kick outta that.

I've got to get one in, too. I'm thinking the fax number is our best bet. http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i2848.pdf

Good to know. I hate it when people who made a mess try to fix it. Bet IRS has seen a few, too.

Just wondering: Who here works year round? I will spend all day today doing a big payroll, figuring payroll tax deposits, submitting sales and business taxes for people. And the monthly bookkeeping part feels like pushing a rock up a hill during tax season. I just wanna do tax returns.

She's a keeper - eharmony, I'd reckon. Estimated tax payments within $200 of liability and gives 25% to church. Precious lady. Wow, just wow.

Dear New Favorite Client, Wowzers, thank you for marrying my least organized, PITA client and whipping the paperwork into shape. It is a thing of beauty, and I hope to God I'm not dreaming. You have changed my life. Remember, it's till death do you part. Don't wake up, don't wake up, don't wake up...

I feel overwhelmed cause I have 25 in the stack. But, I'm ok, the frantic people are gone. Thank God. It's "Ok, whenever" people now. I'll get about 50 extensions I think.

I'm pretty sure I love you, Ron.

Well, she brought her stuff in this morning and apologized. Looks like I will be doing her tax return for 12 years after all. Also said she was on her way to a job interview. I might cry. Nah, that's the coffee wearing off. And where's my Cadbury mini eggs???

Form 8283 - Fair Market Value vs. Amount Claimed

One of the funniest stories I ever heard - an accountant friend recommended client take pictures of donated items. Client came in the following year with pictures of seven black garbage bags. -

Eh, let's not make any exceptions, that way they don't call us to research exceptions. -

Yeah, and it gets so old being handed that form: "They held out the tax already." For one thing, they don't know what the tax is. For another, why are you paying me to do your tax return if you don't think I can read a 1099-R?
