I couldn't figure out how to do it either. I just duplicated the return, printed out the two 8829s the way they should read and printed them. I then overidded whatever entries were affected. If anyone knows how to do it let us know. taxbilly

My 2 cents ... why not have them file at least 3 years? Certainly they could reconstruct at least that much. taxbilly

As far as the probate fee is concerned I guess the attorney would know the answer. If by amended you mean amending the 1041, you would file another one with the amended box checked. taxbilly

In my case the old lady thought that the IRS would appreciate the "copy" because it was in "such a pretty folder". taxbilly

Be sure to also sign the client copy because grandma might send in the wrong one (it happened to me) and IRS tried to penalize me. Luckily I pointed out the fact that the copy they received was stamped "copy". taxbilly

Attaching the worksheet to the 1045 saves a lot of agravation because I have found that the IRS employees who review them, let's say, are not quite as knowledgeable as you would want them to be. taxbilly

I've gotten along very well without e-filing and the few clients who request it are sent with the return to the cheapest e-filer around. Most say they won't spend the money to e-file in the future. taxbilly
