I guess to be technically correct I meant that if you are a Christian you probably observe Christmas only, if you are of the Jewish faith you probably observe Chanukah (or Hanukkah) only, if you observe Ramadan you missed the boat since it was September 13th, or if you observe Kwanzaa it's December 26th. Hope that covers everyone. taxbilly PS New Year's Day is next year's holiday.
  7. I seem to recall that the carryback period is longer for farmers also so that Pub would be a good place to start. taxbilly
  8. Check Pub 536 but off the top of my head I believe the NOL dies with the person just like the NOL carryback and carryforward apply only to the income of the spouse who incurred it. taxbilly

  23. Are you saying you don't have a 1099-R from the plan? The info should be on the 1099-R which would show $8008 in box 1 and $8000 in box 5. Then you would fill out the Roth section of Form 8606 which will bring the $8 taxable amount to 1040, page 1 and a 5329 will be generated. taxbilly
