  8. Sorry to hear about your dad. My advice would be to file an extension and wait to see how things sort out. If there is a refund you will need a 1310. taxbilly

I've got 36 in work which is excellent for me this time of year. I think I'll play golf Friday! taxbilly
  15. Last April 17th I had a physical breakdown. My mom (87 at the time) had a bad car accident and totaled her car but luckily did not break any bones. To shorten the story I was going into my office at four in the morning, visiting her at the hospital and then at the rehab center and then going back to work and then home. The body on April 17th said enough was enough and I spent 3 days in ICU and six weeks in the hospital as well as four weeks in rehab. I came out 60 pounds lighter and have some kidney problems so I watch my sodium intake and even gave up drinking to nurse my kidney. My mom since has deteriorated into dementia and I had to arrange for Hospice this past week as she has lost 20 pounds over the last two weeks. It is only a matter of time now but I am handling it well. I have learned the hard way that nothing is as important as your health and your loved ones. We tend to worry too much about our clients and forget to take care of ourselves. I'll be 65 this August and intend to stay on this side of the turf for some time to come. taxbilly

  17. Not a good time of the year to learn about something that's a little complicated but I would google puts and calls. taxbilly
  18. Shame on you Eric for doing that to an old man like me! O.K. boys, put away the defibrillator. I'm out of shock now. :~) taxbilly
  19. Thanx to all for the kind remarks. Been working hard the last few days tackling the big money complicated returns that we all get this time of year. The P.I.T.A.s are checking in now and can't understand why I can't drop everything and do their return because "I owe lots of money and I don't want to get penalized". taxbilly
  20. Have your clients received them? Most of mine haven't (I haven't either). taxbilly
  21. So the taxpayer did not withdraw an RMD but rather an amount (probably all) and rolled it over to a new IRA or an existing one. I would make sure to get a copy of the documentation to verify the rollover complied with the 60 day rule. You would then put the amount in the rollover box below the taxable amount. taxbilly
  22. 76 and balmy here in sunny Florida! taxbilly
