  7. Don't understand your question. The fourth paragraph of your link from IRS says: The requirements are that you must buy, or enter into a binding contract to buy, the replacement principal residence after Nov. 6, 2009, and on or before April 30, 2010, and close on the home by June 30, 2010. Additionally, you must have lived in the same principal residence for any five-consecutive-year period during the eight-year period that ended on the date the replacement home is purchased. For example, if you bought a home on Nov. 30, 2009, the eight-year period would run from Dec. 1, 2001, through Nov. 30, 2009. taxbilly

  10. I would include it as income with the code 1 and deduct it on the IRA adjustment line. To remove the code 1 penalty I would file Form 5329 and deduct the amount on line 2 with an attached explanation. That should keep the IRS computers happy. taxbilly
  11. J; Your link doesn't work because there is a period at the end of the link. Page 11 says code 8 is used for IRAs as well as other qualified plans. taxbilly

  19. Enquiring minds want to know: How Angels Came To Be Atop The Tree Santa was very cross. It was Christmas Eve and NOTHING was going right. Mrs Claus had burned all the cookies. The elves were complaining about not getting paid for the overtime they had while making the toys. The reindeer had been drinking all afternoon and were dead drunk. To make matters worse, they had taken the sleigh out for a spin earlier in the day and had crashed it into a tree. Santa was furious. "I can't believe it! I've got to deliver millions of presents all over the world in just a few hours - all of my reindeer are drunk, the elves are on strike and I don't even have a Christmas tree! I sent that stupid Little Angel out HOURS ago to find a tree and he isn't even back yet! What am I going to do?" Just then, the Little Angel opened the front door and stepped in from the snowy night, dragging a Christmas tree. He says "Yo, fat man! Where do you want me to stick the tree this year?" And thus the tradition of angels atop the Christmas trees came to pass........

  25. The requirement is that you must buy, or enter into a binding contract to buy, the replacement principal residence after Nov. 6, 2009, and on or before April 30, 2010, and close on the home by June 30, 2010. Home was purchased prior to November 7th and therefore doesn't qualify. taxbilly
