is that your free advice Booger? <s>

his name was TomPerry, i won a bet with him that my error was caused by ATX and not my printers. I won and my Software was free last year, as per my promise to ATX i never disclosed that but not - WTF. Anyway, try increasing the time your print spool stays open. I had to do that a few years ago and then the printing went fine. Another option is to send less to your printer with each click, ie , print your copy separately.

first check the obvious, did the 2006 return show a refund due of the ck amount or the atx amount, perhaps the state adjusted the refund due to a return error or additional withholding not entered into atx. atx only knows what the 2006 return showed.

if he is being paid for actual use as an employee reimbursement there shouldn't be a 1099 in the first place so show enough exp to wipe out, pic up additional expenses ie tools etc as 2106 exp

Adult Family Home charges as Medical Expenses 100%
michaelmars replied to Karen Lee's topic in General Chat
most care facilities have a letter available breaking out the medical percentage of the care and its based on the number of normal care procedues the patient needs, ie. feeding, bathing, dressing etc. in your case i would guess 100% is appropiate. -
A new RANT - They are going to get rid of William
michaelmars replied to BulldogTom's topic in General Chat
don't you pay attention to politics, they are going to eliminate the irs and thus US! no need for a tax program anymore. -
1099's aren't matched unless the total you report is less than the 1099's. after all everyone in business gets payments from peoplewho don't issue them 1099's

This is MY kind of Doctor !!!!!! Q. I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true? A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap. Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables? A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products. Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake? A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up! Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio? A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc. Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program? A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good! Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you? A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! .... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you? Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle? A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach. Q: Is chocolate bad for me? A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around! Q: Is swimming good for your figure? A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me. Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle? A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape! Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets. And remember: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO, What a Ride !!!!!" AND..... For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies. 1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. 5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans. CONCLUSION Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

gotta say.... with in a day i got an email responding to the bug and the next day i got an email that the fix will be in a day or so. secondly, i suggested that entity types and for NY-location codes, roll over year to year, they responded, it should be and put it into the 2008 enchancement list.

what happens is that the irs will take the postion that the return filed with the bank is the correct one and assess the additional tax. i've seen that before.

Anyone else taking 15 minutes+ to update forms?
michaelmars replied to Gregster's topic in General Chat
T-1 here and a full update took less than 2 minutes about anhour ago -
but hey, at least my call is very important to them! The voucher letter for nyc corps is not working! I did a copy and past from 2006 letter and changed the dates and amounts, saved me much time over recreating it. - just a hint
-
u gotta be kidding me, refund a fee over this? the irs will send a letter asking for a signature in liu of rturning the form. [ny returns the whole return]. I agree that if the client is pissed then offer her a discount for next year, or send her a special pen to use for her signatures from now on. then forget it. in the scheme of things we all have much more serious errors, ommisions, delays to worry about.

I have the same bug as last 2 years printing corps
michaelmars replied to michaelmars's topic in General Chat
its not checked -
i try and print all 3 copies at one time and i only get the federal return for the filing copy. i have to go back and reprint the state and city returns. Has anyone else seen this and is there a fix? Also, i must have selected to have the client letters roll over with the returns but i don't want that. I can't find the option anywhere to turn it off, any idea's

ooop i just caught that he didn't leave till 2008. sorry about that
-
i'd just do what is most advantageous and take my chance. HOH gets her the eic of over $4000 [assuming the ages of the kids qualify]
-
the problem with married filing separate is that in a case like this you don't kow if the spouse itemized or not amoung other things. if it were me I'd explainto client the issures and do hoh.

i spend hours each year creating the engagement letter as a custom form. Wish i knew it was in the program somewhere. Does anyone know how i can move the form from 2006 organizer to the 2007 forms? i would love to have it as a master form so i don't have to add an organizer to every client.
-
i did but i am sure in prior years there was a box to select. My memory just isn't what it used to me
