Cabbie who happened to live right by me before he went to vegas, told me they are basically the same. and while the ones further from the strip are cheaper, the cost of cabs in vegas are outrageous. heading to Vegas tomorrow and my son is dying to shoot automatic guns, machine guns. etc. I was wondering, since the range on the strip is so expensive, if anyone had a recommendation for an off the strip range. We both are experienced shooters with semi's and rifles so we just want to shoot what's not allowed in NY or NJ where we usually shoot.

the rule is only for over 5000 in similar items so if in this case it was 4999 in furniture, 4999 in clothes 4999 paintings, etc you avoid the issue. I have never filed with appraisals when each individual contribution was under the 5000. maybe I was lucky or maybe its just something they don't look at. the instructions for the 8283 give general description of items that do break up household items.

Now that we are all finishing this filing season, up some of you might be thinking of retiring or know colleagues that are. As most of you know; I have my own practice and am a partner in a 15 person firm on Long Island. My own practice occupies about 1/3 of my time. I am looking for a practice to purchase or someone to merge with that could utilize my excess time as a preparer or reviewer. My goal is to divorce myself from the firm before next season. I am not looking to relocate so the practice would need to be in the greater NY area.

I do 300 but review over 1400 about 1/2 to 1/3 on extension

It was only 4k and proc 2009-20 doesn't apply [after maddoff our firm is an expert on this] turns out his agi is just over the limit anyway to get a benefit. but I was curious if the theft of cash is personal or business property. Hate when people like this get scammed, he sent the 4k to a company that promised to get his mortgage modified and the company disappeared.

I am................... Just paying off all the credit card balances that build up over the slow months of 1 oct-jan. Monday I pay my own extensions and just sit here answering questions from clients that had their returns for weeks but only look at them on the 14th and 15th. then off to Vegas!!!!!!!!!!!!! first time there.
