Client says the recording keeps saying due to high volume call back later. At least letter gives him 30 days. Good luck.

I go with keeping it simple as asset sale with purchase info as basis, nice and neat. No hiding under desk, no time for this, you have work to do.

So sorry for your loss Rita and family. You’ve been a good daughter and great comfort to Mom.

That’s Switzerland, land of banking, watches, and your favorite, some of the best chocolates in the world. Netherlands happens to be the home office of ATX/CCH where they wear wooden shoes and have the most beautiful windmills.
-
I just tried and it comes up Oman, but I just realized if you type Var it does come up Various. Just V or Va is still Vanuatu. But when I have more than a few I've used Netherlands because it sounds like Far Away Lands.
-
When I tried Various I get Vanuatu, where I want to be

Since earnings are all from NY and fulltime NJ resident you don't need to use the Part Year Resident Allocation worksheet. The earnings are not subject to allocation, it will populate correctly on IT 203 page 2. You don't need the IT 203B. But you could use page 3 of IT 203B if worked at home days apply.

Sounds like you're hitched to a really good guy, I'm sure you know that and are very happy because if you look around out there, there's very few of us left.

Issue has been resolved as per ATX blog.

All CT returns are being rejected at the Federal level so CT is recommending to not e file until issue is corrected, as per ATX Blog. And I thought it was my fault getting a ridiculous error message that State submission must participate in Fed/State program.

Yes, I don’t know how I did it but I went to the one in Market Square a few hours after eating at Maggiano’s. I will travel for food.

Allegheny County is at Very High Risk. If you do go, Primanti Brothers is a must stop, stay hungry.

Brightening up our day is good use of your retirement time. Thanks for thinking of us. That was turtley funny!

Ha! Same thing every year, so I finally wrote it down. Preferences>Open Return>uncheck Display Tax Research Tool Tips
-
I have them mail me a check with 8879. Some will send check separately when they get their refund, and some drag it out like I forgot them. After a friendly call I usually get paid. The very few, I can't even remember who, if they don't pay by next filing season I don't do return until paid for last and current year first. It's a system that works well for me.

Wouldn’t you file an amended ST-100 since the monies and sales tax wasn’t collected?

You struck a chord in me Crank. A common refrain, when is enough enough. I've seen most of my 68th year and like you have led a healthy lifestyle my whole life. But some mornings upon awakening I feel something off and say, oh great, now what is this? I have a feeling for us it's mostly wearing out parts maybe due to a healthy active lifestyle. At least the tax work does exercise the grey matter so that doesn't wear out, something that is keeping me in the game. On an Everybody Loves Raymond episode when Ray was in the sauna at his father's club with a group of older guys, in an attempt to be relative he said "I got up to pee last night" and one of the older guys said, "at least you got up." I guess it can always be worse. Be well my friend, Bill

That's my thinking too. How could it get worse? We've been battered around like a ping pong ball at a championship tournament. I was planning on making this my last fulltime year as the work is not as pleasant as years past, but with all the time spent inside last year it may have benefited mental acuity, and kept us busy not dwelling on all the negatives in our world. I will still try to slow down but I am finding it difficult shedding clients, who goes and who stays, so many are like family and friends. Knowing it's time is a good reason, and with all the additional work, clicks, schedules, and requirements it just makes sense. Sounds like I'm trying to convince myself.

I have one still waiting to hear if it was received, was mailed in April. Two that were mailed in March are now showing received in April but not yet processed. That’s puzzling that a file would be closed out with no resolution, as if they have some kind of job action going on, but we don’t want to assume something so unthinkable.

Glad you found it Lynn. And Elrod our resident animal lover and advocate will always have the perfect alternative if any one of us missed it. My Thanksgiving tradition is the parade and dog show, and being the cook I’ve got the food preparation and tv commercials coordinated as to not miss the Rockettes or the Terrier class.
-
Happy Thanksgiving to all! Going to be dinner for two here with plenty of leftover turkey for the week. Looking forward to the parade and dog show. Stay safe!

Been busier than ever this year. No time for virus fatigue and depression. But there is sadness for those I know that have been affected physically and economically. We need to stay strong because so many depend on us. I’ve been checking in with clients on a regular basis, most doing well. It helps me being stuck inside other than very early bike rides and supermarket trips.

This works every time for me. I start dialing the number 1 minute before they open. After you get the recording hang up and keep hitting redial and you will be right up there in the queue when they open. Keep this a secret because if everyone does it we're screwed.

I too filed an amended return in April. FWIW, I spoke to an agent on practitioner line (who could not find the return), and he said to expect an additional 16 weeks from August 1st. Hopefully the client will have a Happy Thanksgiving, as will I.
