  1. Oh this is so great to see! I've been waiting all day. So glad you guys were able to do this, it makes this board come alive with all your smiling faces. Thank you for getting everyone together Rita, you are our Sweetheart Queen. Love you, Bill

    1040 PostCard

Must be some really tiny print on those postcards.
  3. This thread is killing me. You're all going to have so much fun, like a high school reunion on steroids, seeing old friends that you remember what they looked like, but have changed. Only now, as Abby said, you have images of what you look and sound like, then when you see each other in person, I could only imagine all the hugging. I wish I could be there, but will be in heart and soul. Can't wait to hear about it, I'll be toasting all of you on the 23rd. Great photo Abby, Karin looks like a real sweetheart. You have my hair from the 70's.

    Your fee

I charge what the bank charges. I call and request the additional amount, if client doesn't pay, they're dead to me.
  5. Ditto with Lion. I'm running out of room with the 4 HP printers I have, one still used with my XP computer that I continue to use from time to time. When she goes, they both go.
  6. The only links I ever click on are yours.
  7. I found out from a post on the official site (I think someone said they rec'd an email) and I was able to secure the extra discount with a small amount of persuasion.
  8. I buy from LD Products with good prices for all makes and models.
  9. Yes, driving in the city can be daunting. It's the crowds that worry me so I only take public transport going to Manhattan. There is no parking unless you don't mind parking garages that all seem to be valet only (Spothero.com is my go to for a spot in cities). But since most streets and avenues are numbered, people like us would never get lost, maybe even be able to give out directions to the numbers challenged people.

    The List......

This dog's closed eyes tells it all. Good dog.
  11. I was also thinking North Jersey or Westchester County in NY, there's always CPEs in White Plains. Both areas have airport access and not so scary (and crowded) as NYC. But honestly, as a former native, there's nothing to be afraid of, just walk around like you belong there and no one will bother you. Because if you came as far as NJ or Westchester you will want to go to the top of the Empire State Building and take in a show at Radio City.
  12. Why don't we wait until after Rita's and then see how much interest there is for another. I have a feeling there will be a lot.
  13. And I thought you would never ask. I feel terrible that I can't make it to Rita's due to an ongoing obligation of care giving here in Boston, but I do travel monthly to NYC to visit Mom and the rest of my old crew. Had a reunion last year at the LaGuardia Comfort Inn and I thought it would be a great place if we ever got together. Maybe plan it when some CPEs are available. What do you think?

    The List......

I see you've put a lot of work into this Elrod. Glad to see you are busy in retirement. Thank you! BTW, all Cumberland Farm's coffee is 99 cents any size on any day. My favorite is Guatemalan Highlands or Farm House Bold.
  15. Ha! You're very kind MWright. I've had a lot of practice, it's how I get thru life and get things done. Keep smiling and be happy because life is too short to lose out on that extra 5% when and if it comes our way. Thanks MWright, you're a bit of a charmer too, I can tell! Bill
  16. That's impossible, I'm from Brooklyn and you're from a state with a lot of fresh air. Practice your charm in the mirror and call tomorrow before the month is over.
  17. I might call back and ask why some have gotten this and not others. I'm sure you have an account in good standing and willing to renew early. A little persistence should help. Good luck.
  18. Best news I've heard all day! You don't owe me anything, I'm sure you've helped me thru the years, that's what I love about this place. But if we ever do a northeast ATXCommunity meet and greet, we'll buy each other a drink from the top shelf.
  19. I would say he pays all the tax as he will get the 1099B. He can give out the remainder to his friends and family and file a gift tax return, but this seems like a messy situation to me. He would have been better off just giving out his opinion and let everyone do it on their own. Contacting you before hand would have been the way to go. What if he lost everyone's money? He would be in the doghouse with family and friends with no way to pass along the losses, other than dishing out his tax savings.
  20. Thank you Elrod! You're always looking out for your buddies! I marked my calendar.
  21. Just to be clear, the "extra" 5% is in addition to the 10% offer for May renewal and usually, from what I hear, you can get the rest of the year. I'm going out to a big lunch today with the $82 I just saved.
  22. You're welcome TaxCPANY. But I can't take all the credit as I think someone else on the forum had mentioned they were happy with the extra 5% off so I thought I would give it a shot as it already expired. It worked, hope it does for you too. PS. You might want to give them a little of our NY attitude, being gentle, but pushing towards the objective.
  23. I'm sorry Lion, this sounds really frustrating. So all your less invasive things must include a regular stretching program (aside from yoga classes) and diet modification? I was a fireman for 23 years, got really beat up including being a veteran of two building collapses, have a couple of compressed discs (I know, I was taller at one time). I have arthritis in all my joints (including back) but now am ok without meds, just a lot of stretching and exercise and a diet that would make Dr. Oz jealous. But I understand herniated discs are a challenge. I hope you find relief, but I can't stress enough that a daily stretching program has helped me get back to normal. Good luck kiddo, don't give up, 71 is not old, it's your 1st year of getting that IRA money, with many more to come, Bill
  24. I assume you've been checked for Lyme. Sleep deprivation can cause some of these symptoms too, as well as postural positions. If I don't move a lot, my hip aches, so more movement seems to be my cure. Also, I can't give up my mint '01 Audi A4, but after a 2 1/2 hour ride my right hip gives out, then it's fine after a good stretch. Tumeric and Stinging Nettle are good as anti inflammation agents, but if there is something in your diet causing this they are useless. You may want to go gluten free for two weeks, then call me in the morning. Good luck, you're too young for this to be happening.
  25. I renewed today after an email to my rep telling him that I did not receive the extra 5% off offer communication. It hurt my feelings (I can be sensitive when left out) because I've been with them since before they were ATX. Rep called minutes after the email and told me to hold on and he would see what he could do. He maybe had a quick cigarette and came back in a few minutes and said no problem. So if you want that extra 5% may be worth a call. I have MAX and from what I can see on my confirmation no changes from last year.
