hello I am amending a 2015return and it shows a taxable amount under MSA Why would that be - I have done tons of HSA's but never ran into a MSA - before I ask the client ,,, what am I to ask them? I read the instructions -and I would think it should be nontaxable and needs the 8853. I wouldn't question it except much of the return is wrong and this might be one more item? Thank you ahead. Sincerely, D

I have help inputting and I check everyone and e-file them and I am only at 650! but I do go to bed and get usually 7 hours of sleep - most nights, a few are less and I take naps on weekends and sometimes during the day - I have to slip upstairs when my head hits the desk - Abby was talking about - who still works in the area - how can some people be so *** and still do taxes!! I will have about 400 extensions but quarterly's start Tuesday and it is difficult to do first quarter in 2 weeks - as the 1 member S corps we wait to do their payroll calculations until now. Back to work - I have about 10 2015's to finish up... Darlene

so I did a search - seems AL is sort of tricky Client moved from GA 11/16/18 to AL and AL is taxing the entire year - I have pro-rated on the form AL Sch A (NR) for part year and nothing seems to carry over to AL 40 - I show what is not part of AL and I still get $8,000 of tax due on $50,000 income - looking for instruction book? and only find forms... also says it will take the 2106 - really? or a carryover from 2017? Help please - I am also not sure if GA corrected for part year - as said owes $2,000!! At least I figured the federal out.. Thank you for your help. Darlene ps - it snowed here today!

I have done the nondeductible trad IRA's before into ROTH's and no issues - I cannot get the form to calculate correctly!! I am very leery of putting thru a 8606 with it taxable and then subtracting it on line 21!!! ATX - what gives? Forum - am I really doing something really different this year? thx d

I stopped taking night clients last year and it is soooonice... I have a prior 911 dispatcher answering phones for the season - no one gets by her - drop box baby! or 9-5 M-F

ok - googled - IRA site for Simple says x box 13 and put on line 28 - but ATX says not self -employed - cannot do.. So go to irs.gov and wages - Guess what - treat all of it like the 401.. simple - S and box 12 - even late as in Jan or up to time of filing, I guess, - amend the W-2. w-3.. and it all works fine.. so thank you!! I do not like to answer the posts as I am horrible at (writing) explanations! I say if I could explain, I would have been a teacher!!

WI CS - line 14 has 3200 in and should not be there - makes you fill out another beneficiary and not one - that I can override! but should not have a number in - please remove, thx

thank you!! perfect D I feel dumber and dumber this year - maybe it is time to rnr! my clients are getting too successful!
-
yes, yes, from what I can tell - the lines are not calculating and carrying over - line 5 does not add up Thank you line 16, 17 as non taxable does not carry to 1040 line 4 as non taxable and calls it taxable - so I sent an email to ATX - between here and that - maybe it can be fixed? I did for now line 36 subtraction to get numbers!

and the reason I ask is the qualifying property is given for the Sch C and it does not add up to what I think it should be... and I wonder what I am "missing" Mine is more than ATX's... Original Basis unadjusted except for % of use... do buildings all count? land does not... - not depreciable.. vehicles - how do they count if mileage - need to have cost? or they do not count? Thx d

so they have a retirement plan - Simple IRA - some employees contribute and get match, 1 of s corp owners puts in almost the max $12,350 - is that his money he put in - is that supposed to show on his W-2 - as regs say just mark x retirement plan and then part deductible by the company is only the 3%... The $12,350 is not anywhere shown??? thx and of course coming tomorrow to pu and file

UBIA of qualified property for each specified service trade or business - so I understand most parts of the QBIC - but what assets do I add up to get the unadjusted basis of qualified property Pleaseeeee yes - it is calculated for Sch C - but I am trying to calculate it for the S corp.. thank you, D

I just talked to clients lawyer - sold land in irrevocable trust and the check is in that name - he needs to get a bank account under his soc sec! to cash it but since he is still alive - he then can take that money and buy and sell or take it out etc to do what he wants with it.. ???
