  1. I guess I could move but that would really be a lot of work. I also use that zip on the preparer pin for e-filing. If I change that pin (or my address) wouldn't that present problems when I e-file using a different pin??? I still like 'preparer' in that box.
  2. Trying to add the pin and I use a zip code that has a leading zero. The master is only picking up the last 4 digits of the zip. Is there anyway to have the leading zero print? Or do I have to change the pin to something I won't remember?
  3. Congratulations on your achievement, but most of all thanks for your words of wisdom and wit.
  4. Happy Birthday and many more.
  5. Congratulations to her and you. Good luck with her future studies.
  6. Happy Birthday and many more.
  7. No tax on the first 2400 per recipient. After that it is taxed.
  8. Happy Birthday and many more.
  9. 2 clients called and told me that they mother's past away at the end of 2009. Neither of the parents, I believe, would have to file inheritance tax. Question does the deceased still get the $150 (400-250)? This stimulus sure does stimulate the brain even if the brain is overworked. I would assume the deceased would have to have gotten the 250.
  10. In the return use client federal letter tab. Under options, second box should be combine state and fed on letter and voucher, 'X' that box.
  11. Don't need to worry about wins and losses. I broke even. Had a great time. Can I deduct my lunch???? Can I take the trip to the casino as a business expense??? It was with another tax preparer and yes we did talk business. Just kidding about the deductions. Oh well enough of this nonsense, back to work.
  12. Thanks for the birthday wishes. I enjoyed the day with my husband, children, grandchildren and my Dad, who has the same birth date. I am getting ready to go to the casino maybe I will win (yeah real chance of that happening).
  13. Thank you. That was easy. I was looking at the printers and did not find anything. Just did not look in the right spot. For the 10+ years I've used ATX, I am still learning some of the features. Thanks for knowledge of this board. It is really a great help.
  14. Client would like copy of return e-mailed to him. I have never done this before, I would like to know how to do it. Thanks.
  15. Thanks. I updated and now it works. Maybe I didn't have the lastest version.
  16. I have a couple of Sch C and Sch F's, that is their only income (either Sch C or F or both). Looking at the Sch M there is a line for this income but it is not being carried over. Should they get this $400? Do I need to override the form? Is there a bug in the ATX program? Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
  17. I remember reading something like that, but it could have been for a driver's license and the ability to drink at 18 or 21. My memory thinks "you are legally your age the day before your birthday", but my memory is so old the gray matter is more than gray. Sorry can't be more help than that.
  18. I am willing to take a test and I am ready. Just finished a 2 day course and a 2 hour ethics course. Yes, I believe we should continue our education. I did not want to travel to take a test. Test centers are not that close to me and traffic is horrible. 60 miles could take 2-3 hours depending on rush hour. I don't mind if you drop a bomb from time to time, it keeps the mind sharp.
  19. I agree with GeneInAlabama. I am unlicensed preparer, but I take courses. I have also taught for H&R many years ago. I real don't feel like traveling to take this test. I am also a retired teacher and I know some people can take tests and score high but may not be able to apply their learning, others fear a test but have the skills to apply their learning.
  20. Happy New Year may it be healthly and prosperous.
  21. Happy Birthday and many more.
  22. If we all ran around naked the airlines would lose money on the fee they charge for baggage. Boy this could be depressing. They would probably charge more if you are more endowed then the next passenger. This is really an interesting concept.
  23. Just wondering... I flew from Newark to Orlando this summer and received 2 full body massages 1 going and 1 coming. I expected a problem at security because I have 2 total knee replacements, plastic and metal (Dr. gave me cards to prove it). But that wasn't what set off the scanner, it was my underwire bra. Okay, so coming home I did not wear a bra, just a bathing suit top and no wires. Well again I received a massage. Now they want to see me naked. Will they realize it is the underwire on my bra or are they going to make me strip in the airport?? Don't get me wrong I am in favor of security checks, but if I am going to do something wrong wouldn't I research first??? Oh, well there goes our privacy. Second thought, maybe it is a good thing. It could detect medical problems, cancer, tumors, heart problems, and save on medical premiums??
  24. Gee, I feel I been missing something. If it is a client I fill it out free for them but only with the information that I have. They send the form in not me.
  25. Good luck with the eye surgery. You will need your eyes for the season. Hope recovery is fast and without pain.
