  1. Has anyone using onedesk filed a sch. E rental income? I have a loss that is not carrying to 1040. The loss is allowed.
  2. One more question. I am assuming if they elect to be taxed as a S-Corp for federal, they will have to file as a S-corp for state
  3. Thanks Guys!!!
  4. If an LLC chose to be classified as a S-Corporation by filling form 2553. Can the single member of the LLC choosing to be taxed as a S-Crop now receive a W-2 from the company. And do they file a 1120S
  5. HRB is the biggest rip off going IMO
  6. They got it fixed.
  7. Thanks Terry
  8. Thanks Terry. I am going to call in the morning, tech support closed at 5 on Saturday, I noticed the problem at 5:15 Saturday... Ugh
  9. I have a S-corp. and the NJ return in Onedesk is missing info. This for can NOT be efiled so it is very important to have this information on the form. It had it last year. Here is a link to the Form from NJ http://www.state.nj.us/treasury/taxation/pdf/current/cbt/cbt100s.pdf My Onedesk form is missing the top that has the Name Address, Date of NJ S Corporation election _____________________________________ State and date of incorporation _______________________________________ Date authorized to do business in NJ __________________________________ Federal business activity code _______________________________________ Corporation books are in the care of __________________________________ at_______________________________________________________________ Telephone Number (_________) _____________________________ AND Missing the signature section I declare under the penalties provided by law, that this return (including any accompanying schedules and statements) has been examined by me and to the best of my knowledge and belief is a true, correct and complete return. If the return is prepared by a person other than the taxpayer, his declaration is based on all the information relating to the matters required to be reported in the return of which he has knowledge. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (Date) (Signature of Duly Authorized Officer of Taxpayer) (Title) ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (Date) (Signature of Individual Preparing Return) (Address) (Preparer’s ID Number) ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (Name of Tax Preparer’s Employer) (Address) (Employer’s ID Number) DIVISION USE • SIGNATURE AND VERIFICATION (See Instruction 12) 2013 - S - Page 1
  10. I would love to know how to do that. Thanks
  11. I got it last year after the TRX fiasco and am using it again this year. I like it a lot, easy to use. Haven't figured out "all" the features yet. But I was up and running and using the program in under an hour ONE PROBLEM: for some reason my phone number is not printing on the returns this year and I cannot figure out why.
  12. I renewed. The did me good last year, a whole year free and when I called for tech support it made no difference. I find the software easy to use and you cannot beat the price.
  13. Well we are $17,000,000,000,000.00 in debt. Fees and taxes will be raised as programs get cut
  14. Ok, I get totally confused on this. On another thread a while ago we pointed out that we can efile "prior" year returns. So if I'm getting it right, you can efile prior years but only during the open dates?
  15. I never understood why this law existed.
  16. I got a call from a woman I do tax returns for. She got 2 Notices of Assessment from NJ for cigarette tax for the years 2006-2009. She was buying cigarettes out of state through the mail and NJ caught up with her. The amounts are attached they total $5,428.01 I have never dealt with this type of issue. Any suggestions?
  17. Smart move
  18. Just got a call from TRX, they sent me a email link to their 2013 software. Anyone else get a call

Got this off the IRS site 2. Who is subject to the individual shared responsibility provision? The provision applies to individuals of all ages, including children. The adult or married couple who can claim a child or another individual as a dependent for federal income tax purposes is responsible for making the payment if the dependent does not have coverage or an exemption. http://www.irs.gov/uac/Questions-and-Answers-on-the-Individual-Shared-Responsibility-Provision . What are the statutory exemptions from the requirement to obtain minimum essential coverage No filing requirement. Your income is below the minimum threshold for filing a tax return. The requirement to file a federal tax return depends on your filing status, age and types and amounts of income. To find out if you are required to file a federal tax return, use the IRS Interactive Tax Assistant (ITA).
  20. So I was curious and went ahead and created an account under a fake name. I got to the income part and it is different then it was during the first couple of days. When we first created an account there were no pop down menus for different types of income but there is now. I guess this was a glitch that they fixed.
  21. " That's where I needed to go back and edit. I entered all of the income and then proceeded to enter s.e. and investment income and it was duplicating it into the totals I first entered. When I tried to edit, that's when it lost data and now thinks I'm not even going to file. " Yep a BAD WEB SITE DESIGN!!!! This is the kind of problem H.S. kids run into with their first website build. For $400,000,000.00 we should have gotten a lot better then this
  22. I do not remember being asked that information or the drop-down menu. We applied in the first week, maybe that was a glitch. But I did add investment income to what I estimated my husbands income to be, because I knew it would effect if we qualify for a subsidy or not and I did not want to get a subsidy we were not entitled to, only to have to pay it back and perhaps be fined.
  23. Part of the problem is the way/order in which they ask questions. They ask about wages for each individual but not for income from other sources like dividends. The website has many more problems than "glitches", it is a very poorly thought out site and the questions show that; and those issues cannot be blamed on the contractors.
  24. I just logged onto healthcare.gov I then closed the page by hitting the red X above my browser and selecting close current page, after the page closed I hot the back arrow and I was taken back to my account, I was stilled logged in. This is a real LACK of security. Banks and other financial institutions figured that out MANY years ago, if you close a page and try to go back you have to log in again.
