Could it be that my State has not adjusted their calendar

The e-file acknowledgments are delivered by tardis. -
With a significant fee increase?? You are worth it!

The only similarity is the look of the input screens. The entire engine and database functions are all radically different in all aspects.

No So does the current ATX program Yes, it will populate form 9325. I add that form to every return. You can use the external drive for backup. Just not the automatic backup that happens each time you close a return. Since 2012, Max has no resemblance to the prior program at all. Throw away everything you knew from 2011 and prior.

<<<Can ATX still be installed to an external drive and operated from the PC?>>> Short, simple and complete answer - NO.

Separated Clients (Conflict of Interest)??
Jack from Ohio replied to Terry D EA's topic in General Chat
This is the path you should take regardless of their willingness to sign the agreement you speak of. When the divorce proceedings get underway, even your signed conflict disclosures will not stop the headaches and trouble you will experience. Been there, done that. Got the t-shirt ripped off my back. Attitudes change. -
This is very old and is NOT the current rules as changed by the ACA. Only single member S-corps have the right to claim self-employed health insurance on the front of the 1040. All other S-corp shareholders must count any amounts paid for their health insurance as additional wages subject to FICA withholdings. These can be deducted on Schedule A subject to the 7.5 or 10% haircut. It seems that too many S-Corp accountants are not up to speed on the latest regulations to go into effect from the ACA concerning shareholders and medical insurance. ACA was NOT KIND to S-Corp shareholders.

Well, you find out things accidentally sometimes.

I a situation like yours, my instant answer is $17,000. Then when they catch their breath I say... "Without all the information I need, that is what it will be. Get complete information to me and it may be lower." Then I tell them... "When all your missing information is here, you will be put at the back of the list." Sounds cruel, but I grew too weary of babysitting for lazy clients. Oh, in addition, I institute a 20% "Preparation Interruption Surcharge" to their bill. Their apathy and laziness cost me productive time. -
Separated Clients (Conflict of Interest)??

Protect yourself for the future... Choose one and fire the other. Life and attitudes change. -
I don't think that treatment is allowed, unless it is a single member S-Corp. ACA Effective Jan. 1, 2014. Must be added as wages. Subject to SS & Medicare. Boxes 1, 3 & 5.

Any telephone can be turned off or unplugged. My desk phone (hard wired REAL telephone) has a mute button that stops the ringer. Voicemail is a remarkable feature!

ALWAYS!! All invoices start with the full boat price. Discount(s) are then listed below. Solves many problems in the future...

Nope. Only the programmers at ATX can do things like that. It took us 5 years to get the e-file status to show in the Return Manager.

I do children's return pro bono if they are full time students. Otherwise, just like any other new client. Parents appreciate my small incentive to stay in school.

Although my current answer does not fit the OP, it is correct about amending returns for married folks.

Curious About What Your Software Allows

You keep enabling him, and you will never leave his business. PERIOD. Either Divorce him or marry him. -
You have it confused... You can amend from MFJ to MFS up to the due date of the current year. You can amend MFS to MFJ anytime. (Three year statute for receiving any refund is in play here)

Group and enter them.

Adding machine. Combine the two forms and enter the totals.

As long as all income is claimed, there will never be an issue with 1099-K. Total sales will always exceed the amount on 1099-K. That is what the IRS system will check. If total sales are not greater than the amount on the 1099-K, there will be a CP2000. This includes tips...

At the time of the quit claim deed.

His basis would be 1/4 the value of the home at the time of the quit claim deed. Not a very good financial decision. They lost out on stepped up basis when Mom passed. Happens all the time. "Backyard Probate." Never works.
