Now two users can not use ATX2012 at once?

Agree 100% Retainer up front in cash, and then check for the security strips...

1 out of 7 will respond and be victims. YES, Americans are that gullible.

If you can call what is available, "in use." Be prepared for a disappointing experience. Much less helpful than two years ago.

1. I use my standard engagement letter. Wording covers delinquency. 2. ABSOLUTELY!

No, but I have a workaround. Append the name of the current file to include "ext only" Rollover the 2014 return and use it to complete and e-file. I have done it several times.

I combine donations to the same place for a single entry. Otherwise, it is all manual input. Charge your client accordingly. You are only adhering to IRS regulations by doing all the input. YOU did not cause the work. Charge the client. P.S. I think the designer of that input screen is from CO and was high when he created it!

Suit Challenges IRS Right to Collect PTIN Fees
Jack from Ohio replied to Elrod's topic in General Chat
I totally agree 100% Fees for PTIN have not done, nor cannot do, anything about the incompetent and unscrupulous preparers. The REAL issue are those that prepare return, do not sign them, and process them as self-prepared. The top two tiers of the IRS need to be thrown in jail. It would improve the integrity of the service, and Congress might be willing to fund them enough to allow them to do a proper job. Now if you believe any of that will happen in our lifetime, I have a bridge to sell you... -
When all is updated, you will know if you passed when you leave the testing facility.

Couple wants to amend MFJ return to MFS for 2015 return
Jack from Ohio replied to giogis245's topic in General Chat
You are exactly correct. -
I did that. Replaced one. Took me three whole days. It was done correctly, beautifully and only 2 nails showing in the aluminum wrap. It was the first and the last I will ever do. Hired the next 2 (much larger and more difficult) done by a professional. They arrived at 8:00 and were totally finished and completely cleaned up by lunch time. My time is better spent doing other things.

Possible switch to ATX. Can ATX handle the complexity?
Jack from Ohio replied to SaraEA's topic in General Chat
I did actual side by side comparison of Drake and ATX in 2013. It was a no-brainer to stay with ATX. Input speed is NOT the only thing to consider when choosing software. -
IE does not and cannot exist in WIN10 OS. It is the price for giving in to the bully tactics of Microsoft.

How then can you make the statement that it works fine? I have documented evidence for multiple occasions when it DID NOT and DOES NOT function. This occurs on networked computers and standalone computers. Tech support has almost blacklisted me for calling in and complaining via e-mail so many times. For anyone that values their input time, click on the save icon regularly. If your time has no value, play the lottery with your input. -
Your passing status is good for 2 years. If you have more than 5 years of experience and don't get stressed and overthink the questions, you will do just fine. The first time I took the tests was about 5 years ago. I took all 3 the same day. Passed 1 & 3 but flunked #2. Over the next 2 years I took #2 three more times to no avail. Then I put 1 entire year of intense study (Gleim) and a multitude of tax form classes to pass #2. This time I passed #2, then turned around and took the other 2. Glad it is behind me so I do not have to play the IRS's stupid games with "designations." I can help my clients with the IRS and anyone else that needs assistance now and the IRS must listen to me.

I also passed part 2 first. Then 3 days later I took parts 1 & 3 the same day. I doubt you will have any trouble with either part. I would recommend that you print out and read (It is the most dull reading you will ever do) the newest version of Circular 230. There were some changes approx. 3-4 years ago. Just read through it, and go take the tests.

This is the "feature" that is inop since 2012 release. Trust it if you wish. It's not working has cost our office many hours of rework. Start a new return. Without clicking the save icon or closing it, work on it for an hour inputting information. Then unplug your tower or use task manager to close the program. Then see how much of your work remains. "Tech support" has checked our systems at least 3 different times and say there is nothing wrong and it should work. It does NOT. You all have been warned/informed.
-
I will call "tech support" tomorrow and see what silly games they have me play. The autosave has never functioned since the rollout of 2012. I have 10 workstations, 3 different ages of machines and NONE of them have functioning autosave. Even with autosave enabled, anytime I close a return after making changes, I have the option to exit without saving or save and exit. When I get the unexpected error, it shows for 1.5 seconds and then closes the program down. I had trained myself to click the save icon regularly, but then a long stretch of no "unexpected errors" caused me to slack off. As a result, I lost 50 minutes of work on a new return in 2014. Hence my rampaging rant.... Rant over...

Go back to WIN 7. Go back to a clean install of WIN 7. You heard the recommendation here over a year ago to avoid WIN 10. Now you have one example of why. I stand by my recommendations and reasons.
