Still waiting on a cite FROM THE IRS stating this requirement to be implemented by the transmitter? (In my case, ATX) Requirements to access and use e-services is NOT the same thing. They are doing this for the e-services site because they had their pants down and were hacked. I have not installed 2016 yet, nor have I received any such communication from ATX or the IRS. I stand by my statement about overthinking.

So March 7 to April 17 is not enough time to get their returns filed?? Nearly 6 weeks? Shaking my head in total bewilderment...

Window 10 blocking ATX max install

I AM THANKFUL: For the wife who says it's hot dogs tonight. Because she is home with me, and not out with someone else. For the teenager who is complaining about doing dishes. Because it means she is at home, not on the streets. For the taxes I pay. Because it means I am employed. For the mess to clean after a party. Because it means I have been surrounded by friends. For the clothes that fit a little too snug. Because it means I have enough to eat. For my shadow that watches me work. Because it means I am out in the sunshine. For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing. Because it means I have a home. For all the complaining I hear about the government. Because it means we have freedom of speech. For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot. Because it means I am capable of walking and I have been blessed with transportation. For my huge heating bill. Because it means I am warm. For the lady behind me in church who sings off key. Because it means I can hear. For the pile of laundry and ironing. Because it means I have clothes to wear. For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day. Because it means I have been capable of working hard. For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours. Because it means I am alive. For my wife who always seems to nag at me. Because it means that someone cares about me. And finally, for too many e-mail messages, posts and messages on FaceBook. Because it means I have friends who are thinking of me.

Regulation cite please? Information from a phone call is questionable at best... There has been nothing announced from the IRS about this "requirement" for tax season 2016.
-
Hmmmmmm..... No further comment is needed...

I had (key word) several clients that had that same excuse year after year. Yet they lived a lifestyle way above mine. When I drew the line, they chose to leave.

I have been submitting e-files since tax year 2003. I believe I sent in a copy of my letter that year. I have never submitted it since. The IRS requirement for transmitters to verify EFINs has been in place for at least 4 tax years. I have not had any communication concerning this since tax year 2003. Over reacting to the letters I believe.

ATX TPP Partner 1040 lite

It was a part of the program last year. I believe the install program is the same as the MAX program. Just enter the installation code. No additional installation is needed. -
Very little sympathy for that from me. My electric company, natural gas company, grocery store, gas station, water department, doctor, electrician, plumber, pharmacy, Wal-Mart all still want paid when service is rendered.

Or both... -
And this surprises whom? I am waiting for the same notice about W-2, W-3 and 1099 reporting. I have a banana split says we see it before Dec. 31. Any takers??

I don't use or believe in offsite backup. Call tech support, bully your way to a real technician, then get the information you need.

Unless one of the members of Scorpion kill me and take my flash drive, I have no worries.

-
Question is... WHERE does it store your information? Mine hangs around my neck on a lanyard, and in that configuration is unhackable and always available.

Wife is selectively inoperative.

Mail the payment now. File the 2014 in late January. Don't forget that ATX will charge you $5 for each prior year return you file. Raise your rate and tell him why...

Ask him why he did not give you the total amount of his income, thereby causing the income to be understated. Then fire him.

I have a son that is a lead software engineer that could not break my 25 digit password on the Excel file. I am not concerned.
-
No one will break the 25 character password on my excel spreadsheet. I have NO printed versions. I carry the flash drive on a lanyard around my neck if I am anywhere besides behind my desk. I do this because I cannot possibly remember so many usernames and passwords. I am NOT security and hacker paranoid about my accounts. It is a fact that the largest number of hacks into private or corporate information occurs because the owners of said servers were sloppy with their passwords.

Better chance of you winning the PowerBall...

Software companies are succumbing to the irrational paranoia of software and internet hacking security. If an experienced and determined hacker obtains access to your network or computer, these silly simple padlocks will only slow them down about 2 minutes. I already carry a flash drive with me containing a spreadsheet with login and password information for all the companies and accounts I deal with. 235 line entries. It is the only way I can keep track of all the different sites and requirements. With my spreadsheet, I only HAVE TO remember one password. Irrational paranoia is costing companies millions in lost productivity.
