Until you work on a return for an hour, the program crashes and you lost your whole hour's worth of work. You will change your tune.

"My neck is on the line to have this documentation. I will not put my ability to perform my business at risk due to your lack of having or wanting to provide this documentation. Call your Congressman."

Open a new return, work on it for 20 minutes then unplug your computer. If Auto-Save is working every 5 minutes, you should lose very little. I can tell you that it DOES NO WORK.

Call Tech Support.

I have put these verification codes in the same pile with 1095-B and 1095-C.... Waste of time. The requirement will never happen or be enforced.

When I see the previous year's bill, mine is never less than 50% of what they paid last year.

AND... They will want documentation of all the entries on the worksheet. Every time I have told a client to be sure to have documentation for all debts and assets, they decided just to pay the tax...

It’s official—for 2016, the estate and gift tax exemption is $5.45 million per individual, up from $5.43 million in 2015. That means an individual can leave $5.45 million to heirs and pay no federal estate or gift tax. A married couple will be able to shield $10.9 million from federal estate and gift taxes. The annual gift exclusion remains the same at $14,000. The federal estate and gift tax exemptions rise with inflation, and the IRS announced the new numbers here. We cover the 2016 retirement plan contribution limits here and the new numbers for individual income tax provisions for 2016 here. The inflation bump up matters to wealthy folks who try to whittle down their estates to keep below the threshold, which was as low as $2 million in 2008, $1 million in 2003 and $675,000 in 2001. The estate and gift tax exemption amount was set at $5 million in 2011, indexed for inflation. The top federal estate tax rate is 40%. http://www.forbes.com/sites/ashleaebeling/2015/10/22/irs-announces-2016-estate-and-gift-tax-limits-the-10-9-million-tax-break/#836648899fa5

To the firm where I work part time, 26 miles, 35 minutes. At my home office, 1 minute as including pouring my beverage.

I had mine unchecked BEFORE the update. The update changed it. (@#%^*#%#$% designers and programmers. Changing MY preferences)
-
From Return Manager Choose Options Choose Preference Choose Open return Uncheck the box for "Display Intelliconnect Tool Tips." This will not change a return you have open. You will need to close it and open it again. This should stop them from appearing.

Money grubbers that have no real product of value to offer.

Cancelled debt on a second or vacation home IS taxable.

Must have. I have had 5 go all the way to the IRS and be approved, with the box not checked and no 8965. In your preferences, turn on "update program on startup" for both the program and forms. You will never miss another program or form update.

It is most likely in response to the Presidential order to (paraphrased) "...remove the burden on taxpayers." ATX has already jumped on board with this. By allowing returns to be filed with the box not checked and no 8965 attached, the IRS is complying with the mandate.

The no good low life designers made their update override my choices in preferences. That makes them the lowest of the low.

2005 and prior should only be used on a computer with Windows XP. Otherwise, do it manually with IRS.gov provided forms.

Autosave has not worked since 2011. That is the best joke I have heard so far this tax season. Talk about OUT OF TOUCH with reality....
