I am not even going to try before the end of December. Historically, too many issues with early installations, AND Congress is still in a state of flux about what is going to be changed. I am NOT in a hurry for the 2017 tax program.
-
Well let me know how that works.
-
Wait until the 2017 program is ready. It has not been released yet.

why aren't the older versions available to download?
Jack from Ohio replied to schirallicpa's topic in General Chat
Do not use the disk! Use the download file ONLY!! Without me doing a 5 paragraph explanation, just trust me. -
I will still wait for the pen signature on a tax bill, and the IRS announcing the changes before I do ANY contemplation of the results of any changes. To worry about this stuff before this happens is a total waste of time. I would rather play with my 3 1/2 year old grandson. At least I will get the pleasure of making him smile and laugh.

I will believe NOTHING, until the IRS issues the regulations. Till then, nothing changes.

The cry for years is a tax system where everyone pays the same rate. Now that the changes are ready to be put in place to move toward that, all those that have paid very little or no tax are PLAYING VICTIM!! I want every person to have some skin in the tax system. When 50% pay no tax or get back more than was withheld, that is not the "fair" system all the people are demanding. These changes will not please everyone, but moves the system toward EVERYONE having a part in paying taxes.

This function has not been available since the train wreck of 2012. The new software engine does not support it. This has been asked for since 2013 as well as several other very practical options that disappeared with the train wreck.

Same for Ohio residents. I am ready for new clients.

I just heard, at an update seminar, that the date has been extended till Jan. 1, 2019, on the mandate for colleges to fill in box 1 of the 1098-T for all college students. So, for tax year 2017, we still have to play the billing statement game. Just like the usual IRS. Make a deadline (or so called), then extend it because of pressure from the people involved.

Download the latest free version of Adobe Reader from www.adobe.com

Probably at least 5% for my base pricing and much larger increases for specialized forms.

Does anyone have a definitive source showing the last day IRS will accept e-files this season? I have not found anything definite. Just trying to plan.
-
I just renewed last night. Took all of 5 minutes.

This has been known by the I.T. community for over 12 years. Old news.

For those of you running your network over wifi...
Jack from Ohio replied to Abby Normal's topic in General Chat
No business machines should ever be on WIFI. Pay the man to run cables. Never run only one. It takes the same effort to pull 2 or 3 cables as it does to pull one. Hardwire ALL business machines and disable WIFI on all business machines. -
Never have received a notice concerning 3115.

I will go with #2. Definition of done 1: arrived at or brought to an end One more question and we're done. 2: doomed to failure, defeat, or death 3: gone by :over The day of the circus big top is done.

Luck is when opportunity meets preparation. I am not surprised that you can run a farm profitably. Good business sense goes a long way when implemented.

I never send any taxpayer information to ANY third party. Period. I will send it to the taxpayer, then they can pass it along to whomever.

I give you one chance in 10 of your client following through. Personal experience. If he has the ability, and/or assets, to make those payments, as you propose, there is no way he will even be considered for an OIC.

having trouble with direct debit on efiled return. rejected
Jack from Ohio replied to schirallicpa's topic in General Chat
Change the date to 4-15-17. It will work. The system will take the money just as soon as the return processes.
