  5. Thanks so much, Catherine, for this update. Perhaps you could just let her know that she is missed by her other family and that we've been concerned. But she should continue enjoying whatever as tax season will be here soon enough and we hope to again benefit from her wisdom, if she chooses.
  6. Uncanny - I was thinking the very same thing just this morning. I do hope she responds or someone who knows her provides some information. She hasn't participated in the other list serv I read, either.
  7. Sigh... an alternative is to choose another profession, I suppose. But I don't know of anything that doesn't entail some sort of restrictions, rules, guidelines, something whether growing food for consumers, manufacturing products, etc. I guess as long as we share the world with more than one other person, there will be restrictions of some kind or other.
  8. :bday: and many more to each and every birthday baby! And have a great vacation, Taxbilly. On Thursday we are off to Block Island and visits in Boston area (I'll wave, Catherine, and we are staying in Lexington one night). Then it's gear up time for Thanksgiving cards and organizers and engagement letters already.
  9. I would love to see the picture but for some reason your details overlay the picture. I changed the resolution on my screen but still can't see the whole group. Any ideas? I also tried the other day to click on the new photo to see a closeup but that only led me to the original picture so I admit I am technically challenged with this task!
  10. :bday: and many more! And I'm wondering if Taxbilly is still up from a long night or a very early riser...
  11. :bday: and many more!
  12. Congratulation, indeed, Gail! We all benefit from the wisdom (and humor and support) shared here. As you've reached this esteemed level, we thank you for all the contributions!
  13. :bday: and many more!
  14. Congratulations, indeed! Many of your posts are celebrating birthdays and we are grateful for that, helping to make us more of a community. But we also celebrate so very many of your posts pointing us to the answers we need, raising pertinent questions, sharing your wisdom. We are graced by your contributions and thank you.
  15. What problem are you having? I have gotten a transcript successfully within the past 3 months. Have you entered the POA already through eservices? I assume that you are able to login.
  16. :bday: and many more!
  17. Your explanation as to the reason why mine may have been rejected for mismatch sadly makes sense. I could say a lot about assumptions but won't. Suffice to say I didn't change my last name from Champion to Miller (although my husband seriously considered changing his to mine - more interesting, at least) when marrying in 1979. When solicitors ask for Mrs. Miller and my reply is that there is none but Mr. Miller is my husband, the typical response is, "I'm sorry," to which I reply, "I'm not. We've been happily married for xxx years." That nearly always brings a chuckle.
  18. Lion, I suspect that it will be a while after the wonderful celebration by the time you get around to reading these good wishes. Just know that so many here are vicariously celebrating with your family at this happy time. We look forward to a report of the big event along with that big sigh of relief!
  19. The credit on the 1120S goes to 6765. The 3800 (or 6765, read instructions) in on the shareholder return. You may or may not have to also file 6765. I have a client S-corp for about 10 years with this issue and have filed as described. Unfortunately, the shareholder cannot utilize the credit because he makes too much so we carry over and over and over for 20 years.
  20. Yes, thanks! I always use the 9325 for my efiled returns but actually never used for an efiled extension. But then, I never had to. It's great to keep learning, even and especially for us old dogs!
  21. If you efiled through ATX, you can pull up the acknowledgement history on the efile tab. It shows dates created, filed and accepted. I've never heard of a specific form. If the extension is phoned in, I think there is a number that's given to record but no other form that I know of.
  22. I went with the mail in form now that it is again available. Actually it was easier than online and accompanying grief and took far less time.
  23. Mike, my PTIN from years ago is 00172587. I guess if they are starting over (since your number is sooooo looooow), there is no chance that I will retain my original number. Based on the other comments here, I think I will wait until December and paper file.
  24. I am happy that it worked for you, Marilyn. I got through to the screen to input my filing status for 2009 and the message came back that it didn't match. Hmmm, I'm pretty sure I know my name and SSN and address and filing status for 2009 (and 8,7,6,5,...back to 1979). So I thought I would just mail in the form. Oops! Still not available. And to think I got a PTIN within months if not weeks of when they were first available years ago. Sigh...
  25. :bday: and many more!
