  1. Yes, Catherine, thanks so much for sharing. The engagement letter is much like that from AICPA but you have simplified. And I think the additional comment regarding foreign bank accounts is great. I also appreciate the policy to efile. I would put that into my protected return information when sent to review but I like it better upfront, I think. It's obvious you have done a great deal of careful editing and consideration for this correspondence. I and others really do appreciate your generosity in sharing. Maybe someday I will have something useful to share, too!
  2. Thanks for your comments, Lion. What do you mean about getting money out of Paypal being pricey? That may be a glitch I hadn't considered.
  3. I just found my original EFIN letter from IRS dated November 2, 2000. I'm fairly certain I had to provide fingerprints then and am glad if that is no longer a requirement, especially for licensed professionals.
  4. That is sad news, but you are right in maintaining the pride. I'm sure the team continued to try their best and the injured player must feel terrible. But those life lessons are hard to experience. We just get back up and try again next time as I am sure your son will do, given the opportunity.
  5. I am a CPA and had to provide fingerprints when I got my EFIN (or maybe it was Eservices, can't remember for sure but think EFIN) back whenever. I finally got my registration processed (mailed in Sept. 30 when the website didn't like me) and got my same number last week.
  6. Tom, thanks so much for thinking of me. I really appreciate it! However, I do not want to handle credit/debit cards directly. My office is in my home and no client has even ever asked if I took credit cards. I really am more interested in the number of my tech savvy (more than I am) clients who would rather pay online than write a check. And of course I would be able to enforce my pay before filing standard not currently enforced. Probably 85% of my clients never see me - they just fax/mail/email documents to me. I am seriously leaning to the Paypal button, especially now that Catherine and others have given some good tips. Thanks again, Tom, and all others here who help each other. PS I received my MAX software yesterday - YIPPIE! Sure hope it works.
  7. Thanks, Catherine, that helps a lot. I just think I would like to provide more options this year than receiving a check sometimes months later. In nearly 15 years, I've only had 2 that have completely stiffed me but I'm inclined now to ask for payment before efile submission. My engagement letter says that but I've never actually enforced it primarily because I don't always have the invoice ready. I see changes in my behavior coming right up!
  8. No, Cincinnati Bengals need him MUCH more! And so do University of Cincinnati Bearcats...
  9. Indeed, blessings abound. I wish each and all a day of giving thanks for many blessings including this board and online family. I, for one, would be a bit lost without it. Special thanks to Eric for making it possible...
  10. I am leaning very heavily toward Paypal but am a bit confused since I don't feel like a Business account is needed but I think the Buy Now button is offputting or misleading. Any Paypal users here? Willing to share experiences? Thanks in advance.
  11. Congrats to your son, the team, the supporters, the coach, all who have made these achievements possible! Hey, if we can't brag about our kids here, where else? This is, after all, to many of us our extended work family - just not within the usual 4 walls. Best of luck in the next game although I think luck is a small part here. The team is good and got that way through very hard work and determination. Gail said it well: GO LODI!
  12. Catherine, heartiest congratulations to Gwen on her great accomplishment and to you and your husband for providing an environment allowing her to flourish. The whole family should glow and maybe gloat a bit.

  17. I, too, am a TRX person and, like the others, received my copy from ATX via USPS yesterday. I am also getting really annoyed by the constant emails from TRX despite asking to be removed from their list. I guess my great deal last year had an extra premium to pay.
