  8. :( I didn't get it either... I wonder what it took to qualify.

  10. Good for you, bstaxes! I guess I am not the hard bargainer you are. I paid $840 but that may include that expensive s&h package. I still feel that the TRX one year trial was worth it to me financially but would have grudgingly understood if ATX had held to no discount for returning. That said, I am comfortable, with all its quirks and issues, with MAX and intend to continue using it as long as it is sold until I retirement. It's comfortable, you know?
  11. Thanks, taxtoddnyc! Are the email invoices generated within Paypal? I use Quickbooks for invoicing now and would not be thrilled to have to duplicate invoices but could adapt. I will check the Paypal Email Invoicing for a better understanding, thanks. And I appreciate not having to finagle with my website. It, too, is very basic although the host has the capability of adding a Paypal button apparently with ease. I would rather keep things simple, thanks.
  12. taxtoddnyc, I am intrigued that you used Paypal without setting up a button. But you mention setting up and emailing an invoice to each client. Would you explain further, please? I am understanding that an invoice is created within Paypal then emailed. How does the client know to go to Paypal to pay without a button to click on that links the invoice to my account? It may be obvious to most but not to me. Thanks.
  13. :bday: and many, many more! Thanks for taking such good care of us.

  15. Now THAT made my day! I shall go forth and snap whips with vigor!
  16. I received all last week, too. Might want to check on that.

  18. Catherine, once again you have come through with assistance. Thanks so much. I printed the instructions and will try it out over the holidays. I guess I'm not too old to learn after all. Yesterday was a bit of a bummer though - I signed up for Medicare, so guess I am officially old now. A leading edge boomer born in 1946 -
  19. What a cutie!
  20. Thanks for sharing the beautiful family photos! Maybe someday I'll actually figure out how to do that, too.

  23. Well THAT explains my difficulties! One would think in 2010 that even the IRS would be out of the dark ages and realize, especially with professional people, that different last names are not so uncommon. I did finally get my official reply to my paper application and got to keep the same number. But I spent about 3-4 hours calling the PTIN line, the efile help line the Taxpayer Advocate (I was told to call them but didn't - waste of time)and the 1040 line (didn't call there either, although told to call). And it took nearly 2 months to process...
  24. Thanks again, Lion. I just need to keep researching to make as informed a decision as possible. Retirement keeps looking better all the time!
  25. Thanks, MAS. I knew about those fees which I think are quite favorable to credit card fees. I thought Lion was mentioning something else. At least I hope that I understand correctly that there isn't a double fee assessment. That is, 2% + 30 cents for a client to pay into Paypal for my invoice then another 2% + 30 cents for me to transfer the money to my checking account. If that is the case, I have to re-rethink!
