  1. Here is the problem with all the posts about onedesk claiming how great they are. 1. Everyone that posts as a new person to this board. Yes, we can see that. 2. Nothing that is this good can be free. 3. If you were truely a frustrated TRX user, you would be skeptical as are the rest of us. Now, a real testament to the software would be one of us who has been here for five plus years that has received the deal you speak of, and can boast about it. Until that happens, it is just spam.
  2. I am not a Taxwise user but is there a way for you to create a .pdf document of the broker statement and attach it electronically to the return? I am pretty sure we can do this. I did this last year using TaxWorks and I think I can do it using TaxSlayer Pro.
  3. I am not at the computer where my tax software is, but I do believe that TaxSlayer Pro comes with the Tax Book. I have an icon for it in the program but haven't tried to use it yet. >>>>>>I corrected my errors and resubmitted and within a minute they were accepted.<<<<<> Don't believe this MEF is fast but usually most acceptances are given within 30 minutes. Just more crap. I did check the ondesk stuff and they do offer the free demo again, you get what you pay for. This wouldn't work for me.
  4. I am in central NC between Greensboro and Durham. Glad you got things going with your tax software. Good luck!
  5. You could check with other software companies to see if NJ is available. Like us in NC, we were told by TRX that it was the State's fault when in fact NC has never heard of TRX, TaxExact. so, that leads me to believe that Doug and his group were never or ever attempted to be approved with NC. Again, what a joke. I will probably file a complaint with the TN AG, NC AG office as well. I don't know if you can file a small claims and a complaint with the AG at the same time. But if I can, I sure will
  6. Exact what???? I have my own opinons but going to keep it nice here.
  7. J Ron, if you haven't confirmed with Drake yet, give TaxSlayer Pro a try. I know Drake is good software and are usually right on top of things but they are a little pricier. TaxSlayer Pro is giving some discounts for folks who have suffered through TRX. Prices can run anywhere from 895.00 to 995.00 and there is some other discounts available if you do alot of bank producst I think.
  8. Doug, This is my last attempt to appeal to you for a refund of what I paid for the 2012 TRX software. I know you read this board but apparently ignore e-mail. I know this to be a fact as well. I sent you an e-mail with a delivery and read receipt. I know you got it. There is no sense in going into all of the deceptions that I and others have experienced. If you read the e-mail that I sent, you can find the amount I paid. You once stated that you promised me that you would make me a "cheerleader" for TRX. When I sent you an e-mail, you immediately had one of your upper level technicians call me. One of your technicians said that you told him that I was one of your best customers. In your e-mails to me, you complained about how others treated you, tried your best to convince me that some of their requests were invalid and that you had received nothing from them and if you had, you would have addressed their concerns. One of those folks was Taxed. I and some others, took your defense at the risk of receiving some abuse from folks on this board.I have read alot of posts and some folks here were accused by you of being insulting and some you asked to move on. Now, apparently those who hung tough and tried to be understanding and help you, are now in the group of people that you choose to ignore and after this post, I no doubt will be considered insulting. That it perfectly fine with me as everyone here knows the truth and your true colors have been revealed. I am asking that every person who has fallen victim to you and TRX from the end of the 2011 tax season until they discovered the software was inferior to reply to this post with a brief yes or no. Maybe, just maybe, you may see the impact, heart ache, and mistrust that has taken place. Most folks here are seeking some type of recourse for their losses. When you see the numbers, I hope you do the right thing and refund what each of us has paid. Everyone has a customer number that you can look up and see what we paid. We also have EFIN numbers that you can do the same thing. My customer no. 719828. If i don't hear from you or receive a refund by February 22, 2013 then a small claims action will be pursued. Issuing a refund will be less costly in the long run.
  9. You might want to try 1-855-860-1040. That is a different number that I found on a website for TaxExact.
  10. I agree to change the name or add another vendor section. I see some of you are having a littel difficulty with Taxwise. I have had no problems with TaxSlayer Pro other than some operator error due to not knowing how to do something. For example, how to delete a form from a return. I realize I may have paid more for TaxSlayer Pro than others did with Taxwise but the peace of mind is sure worth it.
  11. In case anyone wants to know. I now have tried for the second time to e-mail Doug with a refund request. I sent the e-mail with a request for a delivery and read receipt. I know he got it but apparently is ignoring it. More evidence.
  12. I don't know why anyone wants to update. I guess, maybe, there are a few folks holding out for the best. I wish you well. I see they released NC. I have been transmitting and receiving acknowledgements from NC ever since the filing season began. Updates or no updates, I would still be scared of doing anything with TRX software.
  13. My thoughts too. I definitely know this guy had nothing to do with a farm mortgage. Line 21 is probably the best choice.
  14. Thanks Roberts but this is taxable income and the amount is in box 5. Client did receive the money so I'll let it go where it is for now.
  15. My software doesn't have a 1099 PATR entry form. I did use the 4835 and the amount which is 109.00 was put on the same line as a Sch E would be. When you open the 4835 it is even more confusing as to which entry you should use. Try it and see what you come up with.
  16. I wouldn't download this crap even if I was paid to. Couldn't trust it no matter what. I now have everything that TRX screwed up re-created in TaxSlayer Pro. The next step is to get the TRX junk off my computer.
  17. I too got caught up in the TRX fiasco and went to TaxSlayer Pro. The classic package has everything you need. They will convert your files. Mine were converted without any trouble and all data is good. Yes, I did check a few returns and some business returns to see if the depreciation carried forward and it did. The learning curve is minimal. I used ATX in the past for quite some time and as I said the learning curve isn't much at all. The pricing varies a little dependent on volume of bank products and other things. My cost was 995.00 and I am not one bit sad that I made the move. Filing returs and getting ACKs in less than 30 minutes and also NC state returns are being acknowledged
  18. >>>>>>>What do you have to lose. You could be well on your way with Tax Season.<<<<<<<<< Most of us are well on our way with tax season after purchasing quality software and don't have time to evaluate anything else and besides, we have lost enough with TRX.
  19. Client received this form and doesn't know why. There is an amount in box 5 which has to be reported. He is not a farmer so I say Sch F is out, no business so Sch C is out, so I looked at form 4835. Where do you put this information? Out of my confusion, I am thinking that if I put the amount on line 21 other income, it has the same effect. However, I do not want the IRS to look for the form where this is supposed to be and issue a CP2000. Help please
  20. Here's something quite funny. On the list of States available in the post above, NC is listed as not ready. Doug told me that NC had not approved their forms and it was a NC issue as they were always late. There is a portion of this that is true. But, I have now received three acceptances from NC using TaxSlayer Pro. Hmmmm
  21. I don't know about Taxwise, but in TaxSlayer Pro, it is entered when you enter the information for the 8879. BTW, I really love that program and don't know why I didn't try them earlier.
  22. You are correct with the cloned software. The phone numbers for each company are only a few digits off and I agree some companies do these things but sooner or later it all catches up. I just want to know how they sleep at night? I know how I do it, I ensure that all of my bills are paid, am not afraid to answer my phone or go to teh mailbox, all taxes are paid and to the best of my knowledge I can sleep with a clear conscience that I didn't screw anybody over oo took advantage or anyone, Well, at least not intentionally and if I have, indirectly offended anyone, I will right my wrong immediately. I guess its called living by the golden rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I don't think Doug and the TRX gang did this on purpose but what I do know is, he needs to man up and accept the responsibility for this fiasco and right his wrong. Sometimes even the best intentions go horribly wrong. You learn from it and make sure you don't do it again. That doesn't seem to be the case here.
  23. I agree with your philosophy but, the product is useless to many of us and we have asked for a refund with no response. In other words, we have received an inferior product. If you have read any previous posts, you'll see that we paid for a software brand that we didn't get which was the beginning of trouble. Most of us on this board has had to take a financial plunge and purchase other software in order to save our businesses. I'm not sure which method of recourse that I will seek, but which ever, I want to gather as much information as possible to support my claim. If you read all of the complains, and rip-offs associated with service bureau fees and the software, one would think proving the deceptive practices should be easy.
  24. If this link works, it will take you to the Nashville BBB where you can view the complaints, company owner information and overall BBB rating which is "F" and they are not BBB accredited. I find it extrememly interesting that the BBB reports that one of the reasons for this rating is the fact that TRX failed to stop deceptive practices. I will be using this and other information to build my case. Here is a tid bit more. TRX Software is a corporation listed on the Tennessee's Secretary of State's website as a not for profit corporation. I haven't found the corporation officers yet but do know that Doug Hughes, Kathy Hughes, Terrell Hughes and Dustin Hughes are all primaries. Karen Hughes is listed as the owner, Doug Hughes is the CEO/President, Dustin Hughes is the general manager; etc. I think they all should be listed as liable in a law suit against them. http://www.bbb.org/nashville/business-reviews/computer-software-publishers-and-developers/trx-software-development-in-murfreesboro-tn-37017600
  25. Well I find it really hard to believe that anyone would think that we would jump at something like this after being duped as bad as we have from TRX. We are professional NON-STUPID people. Personally, I am done with resellers and will stick with the original company. My business and clients are more important to me than that. One thing that TRX, TaxExact, Doug Huges has done for me is educate me to be careful with crooks like them. I decided to look into the history of TaxEact software. There is a website that is just for TaxExact with I believe a variation of the phone number used to call TRX. I called the number and was thanked for calling TaxExact and while on hold listened to the same music as TRX. So, they are one in the same. Refund policy, cancellation policy all the same but under a different cover. I thought maybe there was a parent company to contact but apparently there is not.
