Also...If you make ANY changes to a return after you created the e-fil, but before you have transmitted, I thnk it will automatically show up in the E-file Manager as Rejected by EFC.....you simply need to open the return and re-create the e-file.

What if real estate taxes on a rental are already included on the Sch E? Is that amount also to be added to the standard deduction? -
Don't Forget To Add Real Estate Tax to Standard Deduction

Thanks....I have some clients who really are able to do their own taxes, but pay me to do it because they are afraid they might mess up and get the IRS after them. They are the same clients that are afraid that any tax advantage or savings I can find for them will be a "red flag" to IRS.....so I always need printed citations to share with them. -

I have had several in the past three years....I start with opening the ATX program for the first...complete that year, then roll over to the next...and so on...This is the easiest way for me because I have used ATX since 2000, If I had used varioes programs, it may not be so easy

When I turned my PC on this morning, I received a message that the hard drive was operating outside normal parameters and then it shut off....I re-started it and everything is fine.....Does this mean it is going to fail soon? ....It is 7 years old...just hoping to keep it running for another few months.

I am pretty handy at computers stuff....but I am concerned with ATX compatibily issues.....At this time of year, no other issues matter except ones involving the ATX software and any hardware issues that prohibit the tax preparation and printing/e-filing process. I will be setting this thing up at a VERY busy time and cannot afford to have current and/or past tax years not print properly....If I have even a hint of trouble, I will call you.....Is there a particular phone number? Any idea what this would cost me? -
I am hoping Kyle can help me.....I am finally getting a new PC and will use my 6-year old Dell Dimension as a back-up only....Remember when a Pentium 4 was cutting edge? With the employee purchase plan I am using, I get a HUGE discount....but Windows XP is not an option (I would have been willing to pay more, but no such option). As such, my new Dell XPS 630 will arrive with Vista 64 Bit.....and I am anticipating probems!

Kyle....I had to bite the bullet and get a new computer this season....I will have it in a few weeks. Unfortunately, with the employee purchase plan I am using (HUGE discount), Windows XP is not an option....only Vista 64bit.......I am reluctant because of the many problems I have heard about. If I have issues, could you help me? -
I filed taxes for client in 2005 (for filing year 2004)....she paid her balance due (check sent with return) in April 2005. Two months ago, client received a notice of balance due (with interest added) for that amount due from filing year 2004. I mail a response and copy of cancelled check.....Client receive letter from IRS today showing amount paid in full....What the ?!?! is the IRS doing with our money?!...and had it been a valid amount due, why did IRS wait so long to send a notice? Jeesh!! Here we go...another fun season!

They have yet to turn the fountains back on (not until March, usually) so Crazy Mary has been frequenting the local car washes.....I did see her in the Big Lots grocery store the other day.....she poked the lady at the register and shouted "listen, fancy pants, Chitlins aint blue!" I do not know what that means, but some people came and took Mary away.
