  1. I am looking for a program that will convert a .pdf document (the ATX Tax Organizer) to a Word document or even an Excel document. Does anybody know a program that will do that? My SolidConverter program used to work for this but gave up the ghost a couple of years ago. The last two years I have had a blank Excel document made up. I would prefer to convert the ATX organizer so that the prior year data would be there and I would only have to use the organizer pages necessary instead of constructing a 26 page document. I hope someone knows of a program that will do this, so.....

    ACA

Why would the states want to do that?
  3. Same problem here. Actually went to two different browsers before connecting.
  4. Like Taxed always says, "let them take them to court."
  5. I was able to register. Took about 3 minutes.
  6. At this point, I am going with ATX for 2013. Jack's report is, however, being eagerly anticipated. Anything can be subject to change.
  7. All but four of my clients use the Tax Organizer. Well, I actually convert it to an Excel Spreadsheet so they can fill it out on their computer, but they all use it.
  8. Yes I received it and pm'd you a response. Thanks for the response.
  9. I have not tried reinputing the 2555, yet. I have gone to the ATX site and checked the e-file status and it gave me no more information that came up on the program itself. I am about to try callling again. The only good thing is that it is a refund return so even if I go past the "grace" period I should be okay.

    Humor

E-mailed from a friend: I was in the six item express lane at the store quietly fuming. Completely ignoring the sign, the woman ahead of me had slipped into the check-out line pushing a cart piled high with groceries. Imagine my delight when the cashier beckoned the woman to come forward looked into the cart and asked sweetly, "So which six items would you like to buy?" Wouldn't it be great if that happened more often?
  11. Good luck on me getting software support. I am with ATX and I tried twice before I posted. Well, I will try again. Thanks.
  12. I have the following reject and have no clue how to fix it. I have compared it to similar returns to no avail. The reject (no code give) reads as follows" XML error: The XML data has failed schema validation, cvc-complex-type.2.4.a Invalid content was found starting with element 'Postal Code'. One of '{http://www.irs.gov/efile":Country} is expected. In other words: The XML data has failed schema validation I suspect it has to do with the 2555 but can't figure it out. Do you have a clue?
  13. Well, I have to admit that every Thursday night is date night with my wife. No office, no taxes, no neighbors, no kids, no problems, no pressure, what a relief it is, after all she is worth more than any business and the reason for the business is her. Kind of sappy, huh?
  14. I didn't have a choice. The signed 8879 came in (via e-mail) with a 9465 at 2357. It was a rush, believe me.
  15. Last return filed at 2359....my daughter form out of state.
  16. Two hints that I have looked for as I have interviewed people. 1. Does he appear to want to be here and is wiling to do the work. One of the best measurements I have found is how they sit in a chair. My expereience has been that those who loung back in the chair and give the appearance that they are comfortable and it will take a little to get them out of the chair, usually take a little to get them going. He does not have to sit on the edge of the chair, however, lounging is out. He does not want to be anxious (hard) but give the impression that he is ready to go to work. 2. He is also there to interview them...this should be a two-way street. He needs to have some questions that are issues critical to him also. This will demonstrate to the interviewer that he has put some thought into going to MIT, in this case, and even knows a little about the school and the expectations there. When I was recruited out of college item #2 was one thing that all the headhunters indicated they did not usually run into but was very important. Not that it matters at this point, but, I ended up having multiple offers to choose from.
  17. Thanks. I appreciate the clarification.
  18. Boy, I hate today. All of a sudden those returns that did not send backk the 8879 have all kinds of "adjustments" for info they never gave me. Jeez. Good thing only about 18 or 19 of them..My brain is frozen though. Do I remember that computer can be expenses up to $5000 in cost?.I have not had that this year, however, I thought I saw some type of change for 2012/2013. Sorry for such a dumb question.
  19. Jeez, I just got four returns in my e-mail yesterday. Where were these folks a couple of weeks/months ago?
  20. I follow the same procedure, but one year the wrong Smith got the return...couldn't open it....whew!!! Neither were angry and glad to see the system protected them.
  21. Unless it is a direct insult or derogatory statement directed at an individual, it seems to me this will always be a subjective decision and even on the directed statement side, it will still be subjective. If this is true, this will very hard to administer, if not, impossible. Cuss words are easy to handle, the rest is a problem.
  22. Yup! Sounds about right to me.
  23. For some reason, I always thought it was $600 or more.
  24. Boy, Jack from Ohio, you have left the barn door open on that one. No matter what anyone says, you are a man of courage!
  25. I had two new contacts today....talking about putting it off.
