TaxOr, Im really liking Taxwise after only using it for two days. Sure its different from ATX & TaxWorks but I think I have it down and by my fifth return was moving as fast as when I used the other two programs. Im in Pa so we have Local taxing authorities. TaxWise uses the same approach as TaxWorks. A generic local form that pulls info from the Pa. state. It has done just fine requiring only minor adjustments as most info flows properly. The only gripe I have is that it is missing one PA form, Pa-8879 which is of course the state version of the federal 8879. But Pa. has another form, pa-8453 which is similar and can get the job done. However, I am completely preplexed as to why Taxwise doesnt have the Pa-8879 and tech support couldnt answer the question and all the developers said is that its not in the program. No idea if its coming in an update either. I posted a question about the form on the Taxwise forum a few hours ago but havent received any replies. Overall, at this point Im very satisfied with TaxWise. And the proformas have worked very well too. And tech support responses have been quick, but they were only basic functionality questions.

That about sums it up. Thanks Mike
-
W-tax, yes you are correct.

Exactly. Personal assets!

Thanks Mike, will do. Also going to contact my state AG.

A TaxWise Forum would be nice but wouldnt want those to bought other software to feel slighted.
-
A lot of people stopped downloading the updates on 1/31 since that was the date the IRS started accepting returns and it couldnt be done with TRX's TaxExact so many bought new 2012 tax software.
-
How long are you giving TRX to fix or jump ship?
Crank replied to beckster's topic in OLTPRO / OneDesk
Yes, this does put prior tax software problem in perspective doesnt it. -

I emailed a request for refund to TRX ([email protected]) last night with invoice atached for 2012 TRX Premiun Renewal. Still waiting for a response. 2012 emails for renewal dont mention TaxWorks.
-
I emailed doug once very early on and recieved a response of "I'll look into it". I emailed him late yesterday about a refund but havent received a response.
-
Until yesterday, when I only had TRX's nonfunctuional TaxExact I only had two client returns on deck. Within the first hour this morning I fielded five client calls who will be dropping off their tax information today. Thankfully I have Main Street Tax Solution's version of Taxwise up and running and can confidently tell my clients that except for the IRS delayed forms I am up and running and will able to prepare their 2012 Federal, State, Local & Business returns. That was close ... no thanks to TRX.
-
At this point I dont know how long it would take. I have to wait a week or for a response from TRX if sooner, to file the dispute against the charge.
-
Yes, They verified my EFIN and called me (also emailed) with my registration code and it is installed. I called tech support twice and sent two emails and they answered promptly. Now to get familar with the product.
-
Thanks Taxed. I have to make a formal refund request for the CC company.

Has anyone been able to complete and e-file a simple return?
Crank replied to the boss's topic in OLTPRO / OneDesk
I really gave Doug & TaxExact a shot but realized yesterday that is just wasnt going to cut it and to save myself the aggravation. I believe most of the regular posters her have come to same conclusion. -
It comes with "Master Tax Guide Onlie" whatever that may be.
