The same thing happened with my father. The gall bladder was so gangrenous the surgeon said it was falling apart when they removed it the old fashioned way. He was 72 at the time with other health problems. Happily, he lived another 14 years. I hope Don's recovery continues and you have many, many more years together. Extra prayers coming your way!

It took about 1/2 hr just to install, exclusive of whatever amount of time for the download (that was automatic). The reboot was odd and very slow. It had to configure programs for personalized settings. Outlook Express was one of those. Bootup this am was normal. So far everything seems to be working normally.

I'm very late to the thread having taken the summer off from this board. KC, you and Don are in my thoughts and prayers.

I just signed up for Drake's seminar on 6/5. For any of you that have attended, is it worth the 4 hrs of time? Not wasting 4 hrs + 1 hr commute is more important than the 4 hr free CPE. Is it worth my time to attend? Can anyone comment on any differences between the seminars offered & the Webinars that can be currently viewed on Drake's site?

Kerry, Congratulations on the new job. There's nothing like seeing someone come back from a test drive with a big smile on their face, and still smiling while they write a big check too. You know where to find us any time tax help is needed. Judy

ESSP- How do I input into ATX the ord inc vs cap gain?
jklcpa replied to David's topic in General Chat
I agree completely with Joan on this. My client was employee of Dade Behring that merged with Siemens in 2005. Dade shs were still in ESPP & sold in 2007. She was no longer an 'ee of Dade (no longer exists) & no way could 'er report anything on W-2; her W-2 was from Siemens. -
I think the other board is suffering too because it was started late in the season & all the "regulars" already were on here with no desire to go back. I checked out the official board & recognized a few old names. Most seemed to be those posters that only are there during the season to get their question answered & have no desire to help others or stay around after the season ends.

ESSP- How do I input into ATX the ord inc vs cap gain?

David, I had a similar situation to yours. I found my answer in Pub 525 & used the worksheet for line 7 (Wages) & added an explanation. Here's my thread from earlier this year: http://www.atxcommunity.com/index.php?show...301&hl=espp -
I checked out the IRS website. For some returns, the answer comes back that info is not yet available. For others it showed the rebate amount, date of deposit, breakdown of calc. This might be useful for us next year when the clients don't supply us with the letter of explanation they are supposed to receive.

Chrisbry, thanks for the link.

KC, sorry to hear of your husband's setback. I'll keep you both in my prayers. Judy

Have to admit that I've never heard of this. I have to be on the phone for an hour and then answer questions?
-
Bart, I didn't need the link. I think you missed my point. BTW, when I did click on the link in your posting, it say's "thank you for completing our survey... and done."
-
I know I need to copy & paste the link. My point was that they can't even get an email right, so how will they program next year's software. Scary....
-
I got the survey this morning. In the email where it says to click on the link to go to the survey, the link doesn't work!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Thanks Eric. I didn't see the subforums either. Only the header for that section appears & the rest is off the screen at the bottom.
-
MontanaEA, I think it is just a subforum similar to the e-file section we have here. Many users on this forum are unhappy with ATX and will be test driving other software. It's just a request for a separate area to keep all those "review" postings organized. Actually, you might be happy about this suggested segregation, because that way you can ignor the whole area. I am sure that many will renew and continue on with ATX. In any case, I hope you will continue to stay around. We have a great group of people here that willingly help others.

I've never heard that either, so I too learned something new here. But I suspect that I'll forget it in a few minutes! :)

Look at the upper-right corner of this page and you'll see "Donate" in red. Click there & you can either pay using Paypal or it also displays Eric's mailing address to send a check.
-
I think I don't believe you.
-
Thank you Julie & Marilyn. My brain is too foggy to check anything right now, but I've saved the Medlin link for further investigation.

What's a seminar?
-
There's a "donate" button in the upper right-hand corner of the page. Click that and you can use a credit card with Paypal. Also when you click there, Eric's full name & address appears if you prefer to mail him a check.
-
Gail, thanks for that link. I've not hear of that co but will be looking at alternatives to ATX this summer.

OMG JB, maybe it'll be more easily read when it dries!
