  1. Thanks, I love this example and I had lost my copy
  2. One more advantage of e-filing. If a client owes, I insist that they e-file. It almost guarantees that they will NOT get a late filing penalty.
  3. I have also used myfax.com for 5 years or more. The nice thing is they give you an 800 number, which is nice. I live in a small town and with efax, there was no local number available. I also do a lot of mail in returns, so people out of town and state have a toll free number to use. They also have a way to stop the junk from coming into your mailbox. They also send you a confirmation of the fax delivery.
  4. Today they said the Drake conversion won't be ready till Oct, Nov, or Dec. That is OK, I don't think they will have as many converts as they do from Tax Wise and ATX. I will continue converting, by redoing the tax return in TRX. I am getting a lot of good learning out of it. I least I know if I don't get done there will be the conversion. Found out there is a neat way to copy a return to a different folder, so you could play what if, without changing the orginal return. I like!!!!!! a lot!!!!!
  5. Thanks I will call TRX this week and see if Drake is available. I keep coming across with tax issues where TRX is handling the item, easier, and faster, and correct. I have already purchased TRX, but am getting more confidence with it, and more comfortable about walking away from Drake.
  6. So glad to see action on this board. I had a bad experience with a conversion years ago. But it looks like this one is doing good. I like the idea of converting and then checking each return, sounds like it would save a lot of time. I am converting from Drake, so I don't think the conversion is available yet. I will go ahead and continue to input clients, because I don't want to depend on a conversion that I will get in December or November, and won't be able to check out each return before their appointment.
  7. Glad we are getting more posters on this board for TRX. I have about 12 returns in now and it is going faster with each return. Thanks for the CRL+E (this is a major thing I am missing) it marks the entry in red, but does not give you any warning, that it is marked. The other thing I am going to miss with my old program is their Forum. It has been a great help, and I want another place to talk with TRX users. I have not done the online lesson, but will give it a try. I am going over the training videos again. They make a lot more sence, after working with the program.
  8. Hope this board will get a lot of TRX users. I jumped from Drake to TRX last month. The main thing I will miss is the Drake Forum, it was a great help, on tax issues and the program. The input in TRX is very simular to Drakes, so I am doing good with the change. I do about 200 returns, and I have started putting in my tax returns in TRX, don't want to worry about a conversion. I have done 8, fairly simple ones, and each one gets faster and faster. I am making a notebook, with things I have figured out in TRX. I did that when I learned Drake and it has been a big help over the years. By the way where is the Tax Works Board? would be good to have, and to see if it gets better during tax season.
  9. They pulled their announcement, because of MY REACTION. I miss read their post. I thought they would be dropping TRX soon, but it definatety did NOT say that. I am very sorry about my reaction. I just had knee surgery, had a very bad week. Also when I got home from the hospital my new computer (6 weeks old) (which I had spent 3 weeks getting set up) crashed, and I had to buy another new computer and set it up. I have purchased their program and I am putting in last years returns to learn how their program works. I am very happy with it, I will be using it for this next tax season. Their announcemnt really sounds like it will make their company stronger, which is a good thing. My appoligies to everyone! I will read things better in the future.
  10. Thanks for your response, I feel a lot better, sorry I misunderstood your first post.
  11. Yes, I just reread it, and my blood pressure has dropped. I did check their web site, and there is no mention there. You would think they would let their customers know first. With a first read, the BAD always jumps out at you. I would sure like to know how many years they will have Tax Works available.
  12. I have been sitting here with my blood pressure going up. I HAVE READ YOUR STATEMENT AGAIN. IT SAYS THAT YOU WILL STILL HAVE THE TAX WORKS PROGRAM. I am feeling a lot better, but I checked the TRX websites and there is no mention of this announment there! Don't you think your current customers should hear about this announcement FIRST, before it is announced on a ATX forum?
  13. OH NO!!!! I just made the jump to TRX, and I am in the process of putting my returns into the 2009 Tax Works. NOW next year I will have to make another choice and CHANGE AGAIN??????? And I just missed a discount on my old Tax Sofware. Right now I am not happy!! BUT it probably is a good decision for TRX, and I am happy for them and their future. But now what do I do??

  15. I ordered TRX and I am working with it. I have put in 6 returns already. So far it is doing fine. I have used Drake, and the input is a lot like Drake, so no real adjustment, yet. Each return gets faster and faster. I would like to know if anyone else is using the TRX program? Would like some place to bounce questions and ideas off of. The one thing I am really going to miss on Drake is their Drake Forum.
