  3. Margaret. just a heads up on school returns since I do a lot of them. A few years ago or so if someone l ived in an Earned Income School District, their self employment income is taxed for school district tax. At one time it was not but they changed that a while ago. For Traditional School Districts self employmnet income is inded exempt from school tax. This starts on page 4 of the pdf that you linked.
  4. The business exclusion on the Ohio side is up to $ 250,000, not $ 25,000.

  14. will the IRS be sending out letters on the amount received? if so will there be a notice number on them? I am starting to think about the letters i send to my clients with a reminder of what I need them to bring in. I was going to include the EIP3 letter, whatever that is called and the advance child tax credit letter.. Is my logic correct on this?
  15. ugh.. client got a bill from IRS for payment that did not go through.. i think it is 5% of the tax.. this seems really heavy handed.. has anyone had success getting this waived?

  17. i just talked to the IRS.. they told me IRS "normally" only tries to run it through once. I will wait a bit to see if they try again before making other plans. I hope this is the right option.
  18. there was not enough in the account to cover client's taxes where I had come out of the account.. the payment did not go through.. will the IRS try and run it again or do we have to make alternate plans for payment? thank you.

  22. college credit. .there was no 1098-T for 2019.. asked client.. on 2018 box was checked for classes starting in 1st three months of 2019 ... student graduated in may of 2019 and no 2019 1098-T. they said they wrote a check in january of 2019, we took AOC in 2018.. for 2019 does that 2019 tax payment count even though no 1098-T for 2019.. the 2018 has the box checked for 1st three months of 2019
  23. been sending password protected using bullzip.. kind of a hassle. .is there another way., maybe hosting the returns somehow that is easier and safe that people here use?
