  1. The title says it all... I can't say much about the situation in public, but feel free to e-mail me.
  2. YouTube is all upside down today when you look at any of the videos. They also offer these tips for improving your viewing experience: http://www.youtube.com/t/new_viewing_experience
  3. Just to clear things up, I did not mean that the Fed is an official government entity, but I do think they are at the very least 'influenced' by the federal government.
  4. I didn't vote for either of these knuckle heads. These people are killing our country. I'm not talking about democrats and republicans, I'm talking about politicians. Special interests. Corporations. A currency based on nothing - a currency completely controlled by our government. I don't want to piss anyone off with these videos, but if you're not looking for a distraction, then by all means, skip them. The content within may be quite unpopular with any card carrying republican or democrat. Foreign Policy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIaqmF5IXV4 Economy / Federal Reserve: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpQlB3f9Al4 I'm going to go back to keeping my mouth shut now.
  5. Howdy all! I'd like to try something new... If a thread is political in nature, please prefix the thread title with "Politics". I know that a thread can be both tax AND politics related, but the prefix has more to do with the tone of the thread. If it's preachy "Obama this and Bush that", then I would appreciate the addition of the Politics prefix. You know what your intentions are when you start a thread, so use your judgment as to whether it's necessary. People feel strongly about their political views, and political discussions on forums tend to get out of hand quickly. I don't mind the debate, but I understand that some would like to skip it. I'm a Constitutionalist/Libertarian, so I disagree with at least half of just about everyone's political views, although I try to keep my mouth shut. Thanks :)
  6. Brandy's my wife She says thank you. (she signed up to help me do some testing on the forum)
  7. I have got to find where to buy that sign.. although my dog is terrified of guns. It's really quite embarrassing.
  8. Well, having your resolution set low will make everything look bigger, so you probably will want to keep it the way it is. I don't dare change anything during the tax season, but I will make an effort to either modify this template to allow font size changes, or to offer an additional template with larger fonts.
  9. Hey Art, I'd say that 12 point font is a pretty standard font size among websites and word processing, and this site using something closer to 13 for the post content. 1152 x 864 is low for a 22" monitor (the native resolution on a my 22" widescreen monitors is 1680x1050) so it should appear even larger still on your screen. This makes me wonder if the site isn't displaying properly in your browser. What browser and version are you using? I assume you're running Windows? Most browsers will allow you to zoom/increase font size by holding down the ctrl button on your keyboard and scrolling up/down with your mouse wheel. (or like Kyle says, use the View menu) But to answer your original question, No, there is no font resize function built into the site.
  10. Sorry, no belts. Just extra little grey squares under your title. Both 'Master' titles get 5 squares. Both Guru titles get 6 squares. The Grand Poo-Bah gets 7 squares! Exciting stuff, huh?

  12. Acronis True Image would be my suggestion for backup software also, unless the external drive is bundled with something that works well for you.
  13. Thanks for the donation, but just to be clear, the problem wasn't a funding issue... just an oversight on my part that the community was approaching its bandwidth limit. (And the limit was a guesstimate on my part, I should have been paying closer attention as tax season started heating up) Feel free to add my e-mail address to your address books so you can shout when I make similar air-headed mistakes in the future! eric dot brissette at gmail dot com
  14. If anyone saw the Bandwidth Exceeded message, sorry about that! It's nothing to worry about-I've doubled the bandwidth allocation for this site's account. Thanks KC for letting me know!
  15. It turns out that the forum software was tripping some of the server's security rules. The issue should now be fixed. If any more of these errors come up, please post them here (pasting the whole error message in your post will help me track them down)
  16. I'm going to look through the error logs to see if I can figure out why this might be popping up randomly
  17. When i checked my thermometer this morning, it said -42.. thank God it's not windy.
  18. I'll also mention that in many browsers, as long as you're not in a text box typing, the backspace button on your keyboard is a shortcut for going "back"
  19. I thought that said "If people evolved from apes, why are we still apes?" I like my version better.
  20. If you're not too tied to ZoneAlarm, there are other software firewalls out there that you might want to try and see if they work better for you. I've had good luck with Comodo, which is free: http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/ I only choose to install the firewall portion, so I can't comment on the quality of the other applications in their Internet Security package.
  21. I have yet to reproduce this error. Is it still happening?
  22. Are you still getting it? What specifically are you doing when you get the error?
  23. What do you mean by "the choice codes stay with the name"? Don't forget to hit the "Update my Signature" button at the bottom when you've finished making changes
  24. It's really too bad. There are some really great browsers out there, and IE easily ranks near the bottom, in my opinion. Any company or individual requiring IE is doing their part to kill innovation on the web.
